Great place
Course is in great condition and the staff could not be more friendly..
Value
To label this as a “best bang for the buck” course does it a great disservice. It is a community course that meets or exceeds expectations for an enjoyable, and challenging round of golf in its price range.
Cart Guy/Starter
I’ll start by saying this, I like the course for the most part. But I encountered the most awful cart guy/starter I’ve ever met. Older guy, sounds like he’s from New York, acts like he thinks he’s a mod boss. One of the rudest people I’ve ever met in my life. Most likely will not go back, simply because of him.
Great day and an interesting course!
Good course, in good condition for this late in the season. Love the GPS on the carts as this was our 1st time playing the course. I will play this course again!
Staff is Pretentious with Golf Now Users
I have used golf now at many different courses of all types, all around the state. Very high end and very casual places all alike, I’ve never had a negative experience like I did here at Greenfield.
With that said, the level of pretentiousness of the Staff towards Golf Now users was ridiculous. They all voiced their displeasure in my using Golf Now, the rate I received multiple times— this was not isolated to one employee but all that were immediately present, I remember 3 different individuals. They also mentioned that I could not bring my own water bottle (95 degrees outside) or any sort of carry on bag what so ever. This was bothersome but understandable, but my annoyance with this was that they displayed their own annoyance with me when I asked them to wait a moment to be sure I had everything I needed in my golf bag such as sunscreen, bug spray, my wallet, hat and sunglasses, etc.
To top this off before my round they told me and any other Golf Now User in the vicinity we could not check in for another 11-12 minutes ( about 5 minutes before my tee time) because of the “rate we received”.
After conforming to all of their different stipulations and openly joking about their pretentious attitudes towards Golf Now Users, I noticed that they even removed my key from my cart while I was inside getting my prepaid receipt; like I was going to drive off without paying or something.
It was all uncalled for and extremely puzzling. I golfed 9 holes at a private course Riverstrand earlier that same day and the employees there would never have acted the way this establishment’s did and to be frank... These two courses are not close to comparable, yet they are right down the road from each other. Riverstrand is immaculate.
Overall, the course played well, was nice and enjoyable; But I’ll NEVER be back, thanks to the rude Starters, Pro Shop Staff and Cart Guys! 3 Out 5 Stars and that is just because the course itself was in great shape.
I’m sorry but our staff has been together for years, and are extremely friendly and professional. I get compliments about them all the time. Simply wonderful people. When you buy hot deals, 100% of the revenue goes to Golf Now, zero to the course by the way. You are Golf Now’s customer, and are simply guests at the courses you visit. Please be respectful of local course rules when you visit, and you wont have any problems. If you change your mind, reach out via email. Greenfield is a special place, as is my other course, The River Club. Great options in the winter when those upscale courses charge an arm and a leg! Tony
I would like to clarify; I don’t have any problem with the policies—but the way all of your staff handled these policies. They were rude, unhelpful and acting entitled. No need for further discussion, I’ll spend my money at the other courses in the surrounding area. Thanks Tony
This is Tony the owner of the course. I do not have a problem with people buying the hot deal from golf now. However, if you read your email confirmation, it clearly outlines Golf Now’s rules for hot deals at our course. The tee time is for 2:36. As per our agreement with them, we can only check in hot deal customers 15 minutes prior without exception. If you would like to discuss further, email me at tony@greenfield.golf
Very Surprised
I gave up on this course years ago because of conditions but have to say it’s come along way
Thanks! Our staff is amazing, and they have done a great job turning this course into a wonderful place to play golf at a great price. We just bought The River Club 2 years ago. Same prices and friendly staff. Come visit! Tony
Nice course, except for the in monitored tourney slowing play
The course was in good condition, and the greens were rolling nicely. However, there was a large group tournament in play that greatly slowed pace of play as they were younger and routinely hit several balls from the tee, searched for balls, and fished balls from the water as each tee box behind them stacked with non-group play. Many non-tourney 4somes quit mid round, but we stick it out for a 5hr. Round.
You are 100% correct. That tourney was terrible. I will not book them in the morning again. Come see us again, you will have a much better experience. Tony
ADA Violation
Booked our time with Golfnow, arrived 15 minutes before tee time to check in. Cart guy proceeds to tell me I am not allowed to take my backpack. I explained I am diabetic and my medicine, sugar tablets and other diabetic needs are in the bag. He stated he didn’t care no bags. I explained the other two times I have golfed here the staff approved my bag. Just in case you don’t know, insulin must stay cool and not in direct heat. He again stated he didn’t care, no bags. I went inside to let the man working the pro shop know what was happening. He stated he didn’t care either, no bag. I explained he can inspect my bag, he stated again, he didn’t care. So I had to go golf at a different course who welcomed my disability and even offered ice to my bag. It’s a shame this place does not recognize a reasonable accommodation for diabetics to golf, and it’s apparent the staff do t care. I had a three some and two of us are diabetic so it wasn’t just my diabetic supplements. The cart guy even made the wise comment of, how do we know there isn’t a six pack of beer in that bag. Again I offered them to inspect. They wouldn’t. I will be filling a American Disability Act violation in the morning.
This is Tony the owner, and this is most certainly not our policy. We provide coolers with ice to all customers for keeping medicine cool. For anyone else reading this, we have had the same staff for years and they are the friendliest people in town. Please see our other reviews for a more accurate description of our wonderful crew.
Over Booked
Arrived for our 2:36 tee time and had 5 groups ahead of us. Teed off 30 minutes late , but pace of play was great.
Good value, but be aware of over booking..
Sorry for the delay, but we were not over booked. The Hot Deal time at 2:36 is always going to be a little crowded. For the same rate you can get off earlier by booking on our website WWW.GREENFIELD.GOLF
Thanks. Tony
Great
Best public course in Bradenton. Greens and tee boxes are great. Fairways are good.
Great layout. Will play again.
This is Tony the course owner. Please email me at tony@greenfield.golf Would like to hear what happened.
