The Links Course at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is the ultimate in risk-reward golf. The architect, Tom Jackson, routed five holes along the bay and then wound the course inland across rolling undulations. In order to prevail against the blustery Gulf Coast winds, accuracy and proper club selection are essential, making it a true shot-maker's golf course. In addition to being right along the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay, the Baytowne Marina serves as a backdrop to the course, providing even more stunning views of the Emerald Coast. Of the four championship golf courses that Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort offers, the Links is one of the original two and also one of the most popular. The layout offers a unique links experience that all skill levels can enjoy, especially since it features four different sets of tees.

Scenic course, below average greens

We booked the first tee time of the day so pace of play wasn’t an issue. The range is irons only which will cost most golfers some strokes on the first few holes. Tee boxes and fairways were in pretty good shape. The rough is thick but fair. Greens were very disappointing for a $100 round. Extremely slow, you have to hammer putts to get them to the hole. Overall the scenery makes it worth playing once, but probably will pick a different track next visit.
