The Links Course at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is the ultimate in risk-reward golf. The architect, Tom Jackson, routed five holes along the bay and then wound the course inland across rolling undulations. In order to prevail against the blustery Gulf Coast winds, accuracy and proper club selection are essential, making it a true shot-maker's golf course. In addition to being right along the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay, the Baytowne Marina serves as a backdrop to the course, providing even more stunning views of the Emerald Coast. Of the four championship golf courses that Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort offers, the Links is one of the original two and also one of the most popular. The layout offers a unique links experience that all skill levels can enjoy, especially since it features four different sets of tees.

The Links Course

The course layout is great and normally the course is in great shape. However this time there had been a fair amount of rain so the course was soaked and the greens were very slow. While I understand this was due to the enormous amount of rain in the area I feel the course should have been closed and players redirected to another course or refunded their money. I flew in from Texas and the Links was by far the worse course we played in our four day stay. Wasn’t worth the money.

Very enjoyable and challenging

There was light rained both days, but the course was in great condition. Greens were unpredictable as they dried quickly due to aeration a week before.

Sandestin Links

Fun course. Lots of water and can be very challenging. Several holes alongside beautiful views of the bay. For an old course, it is well kept and always a fun time at a good price. I would recommend. Negatives are that there’s not a clubhouse restaurant to sit down at and enjoy a meal before or after your round. They do have a snack shop and decent food choices there and a beverage cart,

Rainy round

We played on a round with off and on rain but it wasn’t a problem. Also cart path only because of heavy rains that night. Course drained well. Only a few areas where lies were soggy. It was 10 days after greens aerated but it was only noticeable on a few holes. Only drawback was attendant at cart drop off was extremely rude - beginning, middle and end.
