Links at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort

This was a hard track, especially with the wind… but it was the favorite of our trip where we also played Kelly plantation, and Baytowne. This is a very scenic course with a number of holes on the water in contrast to the others that just have one or two. Greens were not as fast or true as Kelly, but a lot better than baytowne. I’ll definitely come back to this one.

Could use more rakes around bunkers, The people I was joined up with were slow, could use an occasional ranger, We played in 4:35.

Great course and great staff. The layout is awesome and requires some shot making. The only issue is that after 3:00pm the starter is gone therefore play becomes slower. Groups vary from 4 to single golfers which creates extreme slowness of play.

After walking up the very steep concrete steps to the pro shop I asked them why they didn’t have an elevator, the answer? “This place and the course were built in 1972.” So, 40 years ago, and it looks it, it feels it. Our cart was dirty, we loaded our own clubs into the cart, no assistance anywhere. The course layout, was good. But, the maintenance of the course is sadly lacking. Crumbling cart paths, bathrooms on the course rusted out doors, ill maintained. The range had 5-6 spots IRONS only, dirt, not grass. We felt like it was a high priced ‘muni’ - $100 - and worth about $40. Look elsewhere. Played the Baytowne course the next day, MUCH better condition, MUCH better pro shop, MUCH better range, MUCH better ‘turn/halfway grill’, still did not receive any assistance with our bags, or cleaning of clubs. Pace of play - foursome 4hrs/25mins - WAY too long. In summary - go elsewhere.

Course is tough! Learn to not use driver if your long. Staff friendly and course is tough. Peak season it should be great to play.

So there were three of us. Played from the blue tees and the course was in good shape. Greens were smooth and in great shape.

Very windy day with 10-15 mph winds from southeast all day. Made for some interesting shots at times.

Starter informed us that there was some maintenance going on at the 17th tee and that tee box was closed and a temp tee was set up in the fairway. Not sure what the maintenance was but the workers had dug a hole about 2’x2’ on the side of the tee box and another larger hole about 4x4 near the temp tee.

All in all it was a great day to play.

This is a good track with fantastic views. Bring your "A" game, there's plenty of trouble, and the bay breeze will challenge your ball striking.

See above. Great time and lunch was really good. Tight course so had to play strategically. Being 1st time out this year it was a challenge. Course in good condition and fun to play.
