About
Baytowne Golf Club at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort is routed from the beach to the bay, providing stunning views along the way. The course rolls across the few elevation changes that the area has to offer. Although it opened in 1984, the golf course didn't reach its peak until it underwent extensive renovation in 2005, which were carried out by the original designer, Tom Jackson. The layout features rolling fairways lined with mature pines that are generous and times but can be tight when you least expect it. The large, undulating greens can also play faster than what you might be expecting. Water, which comes into play on 12 holes, is a prominent feature of Baytowne Golf Club as are the numerous bunkers strategically placed throughout.

Not As Good as expected
The raven course is right next-door and maintain by the same people and a raven courses. Very nice. I was expecting a lot more from this course and was very disappointed in condition. greens were super slow and looks like cups had not been moved for a while.

Baytown Golf
Course was cart path only and wet. Wasn’t there fault but it was a rough day.

An excellent example of Florida Golf. It is a course that can bring you back to reality if you have been playing easy local courses. The greens rivaled a good billiard table. We will be back.

Golfnow sucks!
Golfnow has known that only 15 holes are playable at Baytowne for over a week, yet there is no indication of that on the Golfnow website. We drove a long way to arrive and find out only 15 holes are playable. The management told us Golfnow has called them every day for an update on the problem and has been told repeatedly the repairs will not be finished until at least 12/15,, yet Golfnow leads players to think they will get to play a full round. Deliberately misleading by Golfnow!

Same as always
Golf course management continues to ignore course amenities. Course condition ok, but should be better especially tee boxes and traps. Lots of potential being wasted.

Staff is tremendous
Course is well maintained and can’t beat it for the money. Greens were slow but could have been the time of year. Can’t say enough about the staff, the guys in the club house, guys outside and staff on the course, they have you covered. Thanks for a great round. Until next time!

Roll the greens please.
The course and surrounding landscape is beautiful. The location is very convenient. The fairways and tee boxes were in great shape. This would have been one of my best golfing experiences save 3 critical errors.
1. Holes 13, 14 and 15 were closed due to a sink hole in the property so the round was only 15 holes.
2. The water irrigation over the driving range was on during the day. The range was open for practice but it was a soaked, muddy mess. You have to be prepared to run when the sprinkler turns on. Close the range or water at night, please.
3. The greens were supper slow. 7 or 8 STEMP. They had not been cut or rolled. It is Winter so omitting the trimming is understandable but greens can be rolled year round. A course this nice should have competitive greens.
If I had to guess, I would say that Baytowne could use a new grounds manager/greens keeper.

Great shape
The course was in overall great shape. Only 2 complaints. The driving range is being overseaded and they are watering it 4 or 5 times a day and it has about a inch of water on it. 2nd. I believe the greens were over seaded in the last month and they are very slow and a little hairy but this should fix itself I hope

Fun day
It was a lovely day to play golf and the course was in good condition except for the sink hole. But that’s not the course’s fault.

Great potential
Course layout is good and varied. Greens were in great condition. I did find a lack of trash bins on course. I also wonder why they would water the course after rain, so some parts were really soggy which damage the course and really didn't have to be, if someone was paying attention.
