About
Baytowne Golf Club at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort is routed from the beach to the bay, providing stunning views along the way. The course rolls across the few elevation changes that the area has to offer. Although it opened in 1984, the golf course didn't reach its peak until it underwent extensive renovation in 2005, which were carried out by the original designer, Tom Jackson. The layout features rolling fairways lined with mature pines that are generous and times but can be tight when you least expect it. The large, undulating greens can also play faster than what you might be expecting. Water, which comes into play on 12 holes, is a prominent feature of Baytowne Golf Club as are the numerous bunkers strategically placed throughout.

Pretty course
Enjoyed our round. Very unlucky that a sink hole prevented us from playing 3 holes. Hope to get all 18 in next time.
Nice Track
Great course in Destin area. Fairways and greens in great shape. Immensely enjoyed playing this track. Tee times are staggered nicely to keep pace of play from backing up. Definitely recommend playing this course.

Good golf course with enough challenge
Golf club in good shape, 3 holes closed but we knew that before. Staff very friendly. One thing their greens are very slow.

Only 15 Holes availables
Golf now present il as 18 holes but that Day only 15 aéré availables. That as not a hot deal!

Tell the truth
After I had already booked the tee- time and confirmed. I arrived at the golf course and was at the stand to pay for my round . It was then that I was notified that three holes would not be available to play due to course management problems. They assured me they would give me a discount since I would only be playing 15 holes. I expected the discount to be the equivalent of the loss of three holes or 1/6 of the price. They did not. The staff was less than friendly or apologetic. I will not be back.

This is a nice course but …..
Baytown is a nice course and we all enjoyed playing. The one major issue was that we were not allowed to play 3 holes on the course. This would not been a problem if I hadn’t already prepaid for my groups green fees. We were not offered a discount. Very disappointed in how we were treated.

Thanksgiving holiday play
We played the Bayrowne course twice on the thanksgiving weekend 2022. Wednesday round sunny and warm, Friday was a great day until we teed up, rain started. Stopped soon after but finished under cloudy skies, very well maintained and nice course, lots off friendly people around, very good value for the money.

Good course
Course was in good shape except for the very slow greens due to overseeding. However 3 holes on the other side of 98 were closed due to a problem with the tunnel. No one in the pro sho or starter told me about this. If I knew this when I booked the round I probably wouldn’t have played.

Do not play it now.
We are down here with family for Thanksgiving and Baytown was the best deal. I’ve played it several times in the past. But when we show up they tell us that we cannot play holes 13, 1415 because the tunnel is out of order so we can only play 15 holes instead of 18. I called the morning of our round to confirm our teatime and they said nothing about it. They did discount us, but that was a disappointment. Seems like they could’ve made arrangements to get us across the highway for three holes and then back. Also, the course and the driving range were very wer because they had been watering it for the over seeding,and the greens were very slow. . Just a little bit of care and it could be better.

Curse the sink-hole
At check-in, we were told 3 holes were closed because of a sink hole blocking the way to 3 holes. Disappointing. Other than that, enjoyed the day.

Very nice course the staff is very friendly,
The only negative is the golf now reservation system , I have made four reservations that I didn’t get but golf now still charged me the service fee. Call the pro shop directly.

Good layout but……….
Greens were like putting on shag carpet. Disappointing!

This course has it all. Challenging yet forgiving. Beautiful holes and landscape. Its been here a while but delivers with a good challenge while be fun and forgiving.
