Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort offers four 18-hole, championship courses designed by three renowned architects. Raven Golf Club, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., was carefully carved through marshes, native wetlands, and towering pine forests. Jones created a layout that is hailed for being both modern and traditional. It is also notable for how it seamlessly flows into the surrounding nature. The golf course offers plenty of variety both in shot options and visual scenery. The diverse holes are accented by dramatic changes in color and texture throughout the landscape. Water comes into play frequently and there are a number of strategically placed sand traps. Golfers are presented with a myriad of different ways to play each hole, which means thoughtful strategy is a necessity. The golf course's large, undulating greens also make proper club selection essential.

Need to hit it straight and plan on being out awhile

The course has a great look about it. Many hole have water to one side and trees on the other, so you need to hit it straight.

Slow play was my biggest complaint. The ranger was out several times and had asked the groups in front to pickup their pace, but no luck. As he said he could only ask. Why bother to have a ranger if he can not move groups ahead holes so there is not a gap of .2 holes.

This RTJ design is awesome. Not too hard, but challenging with strategically place sand traps. It was busy, but play moved along nicely. Staff are awesome and the beverage cart came by continuously which was great since it was a warm day. Definitely, recommend this course if you are in Destin.

Love this course...Pete Dye designed a gem! This is my favorite course in the San Destin area. The tee boxes are grassy and even, the course layout is tight and a challenge and the greens are smooth for a public course. Maintenance crews have shown they are on anther level in the area. This course level is expected in a vacation spot. Other courses prove they are not up to the task! I didn't like the cart path only and not being able to hit range balls,, but after heavy rains it is anticipated. Great course!
