About
Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort offers four 18-hole, championship courses designed by three renowned architects. Raven Golf Club, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., was carefully carved through marshes, native wetlands, and towering pine forests. Jones created a layout that is hailed for being both modern and traditional. It is also notable for how it seamlessly flows into the surrounding nature. The golf course offers plenty of variety both in shot options and visual scenery. The diverse holes are accented by dramatic changes in color and texture throughout the landscape. Water comes into play frequently and there are a number of strategically placed sand traps. Golfers are presented with a myriad of different ways to play each hole, which means thoughtful strategy is a necessity. The golf course's large, undulating greens also make proper club selection essential.

If it weren’t for the sand on the greens...
....this would likely be a five star rating. Aerating greens are necessary, but the amount of sand they top dressed with was absurd! Sand “rooster tails” on every putt. Great layout, played with very friendly member who made us forget about the condition of the greens. Amenities are very “muni-like” and surprisingly dated. Staff friendly. Pace of play good. It was a distant second place vote to the two courses we played on this trip (Kelly Plantation beating the Raven in every category).

I would do it again
Over all a good experience. Pro shop staff a bit abrupt and not a lot of patients for some one there the first time. Bag staff very good and helpful.
The course was very wet and cat path / rough only. But over all played well and of the three courses at Sandestin I like it the best.

Raven at Sandestin
Great golf course. Super layout, great staff and well manicured. I would encourage everyone to play this one. I would have given 5 stars but the greens had just been aerated which was disclosed and was understood but it still impacted the pleasure of our rounds.

Great conditions, sanded greens
Course is in very good condition, did not expect sanded greens - pretty much unplayable for putting. Still had a very good round.

Great course!
Course was beautiful and in great shape. Greens were much slower than I was accustomed too and recently airated but not bad at all. Everything else was perfect!

Good Course but a little disjointed layout
Good course in great condition given the recent plugging and top dressing which was disclosed when booking. Staff was excellent. Layout is a little disjointed with some long drives between green to next tee.

Nice course
Great track. They punched the greens a few days before I played. Teed off on time but had a group in front of us who were several holes behind.

Torn on this...
Course was in good shape....except the greens and fairways had been punched. Putting was a crapshoot. I had no idea of this until I was paying....and of course there was no reduction of the fees. Any mother time I’d be happy with the course. Staff were top notch!!!

The Raven is a beautiful golf course.
I gave the 5 star rating even though they had just aerated the course. I knew this when I booked my tee time so I knew what to expect. Of course the greens were a little bumpy but playable. I’m looking forward to playing it again once it’s back to normal.
