Raven at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort

It was a good round, the greens were sandy without any discount.

My review is simple… go play Kelly Plantation over this course. I played both over the last two days and Kelly Plantation blows the Raven out of the water. Everything from customer service to the course is much better.

The Raven was a decent course once we were actually playing but the customer service leading up to the round was lacking. Ill start with getting our own clubs out of the car and onto the cart. There was no customer service but more like we were bothering them by showing up. Secondly the driving range does not open until 8am. Do not book a tee time before 830 if you want to hit rang balls. Third the starter is just plain angry. You can’t go to the rang and the putting green has 15 people with 5 holes so we ended up going to the starter 10 minutes prior to our tee time. Well we were told that we were 10 minutes early and that we were playing with another twosome. I asked who the other twosome was, and the response was “I don’t know.” It is common for golfers to check in with the starter prior to the tee time but don’t bother here. They don’t want to see you until 1 minute. Forth we were told there was a snack shack on 10 at the turn. Well, it was there but of course it was not open. This is not the best news when you pass on the cart girl a hole prior because you were told in the clubhouse that the “snack shack” would be open. Finally, when you are done with your round there is no customer service. Just get your own bag off the cart and carry it to your car.

Course condition was ok. Nothing special but the fairways were in great condition. Greens are extremely slow as compared to even Kelly Plantation (which were slower than I like).

Overall, the experience was not that great for $120 a round. Nothing worse than taking your first swing on the first tee. There are so many other options to choose from in this area. I do not see myself or my group playing this course again.

Great time and great course. Played from tips a d you will use every club in bag. Staff was friendly and had a great conversation with starter. I will play again this week.

The course is in a nice community and beautiful scenery. Staff at the clubhouse food service were HORRIBLY slow. 20 minutes to serve a hot dog and made us late for our tee time. They showed no concern or urgency for the realities of golf. Greens were slow and bumpy. Not at all worth the money until the green are good and staff is better. Tricky layout with a lot of doglegs over water. Will not be returning.

Very nice golf course just wish it wouldn’t have rained a bit..I was fortunate to get to play beings they had forecast all day rain.. staff friendly, course layout was fun, and greens had been aerated but playable… I’d like to go back one day and get to play this course again.. otherwise I’d rate it 9/10….had fun!!

Awesome course. Great layout with lots of water in play. Every hole is different. Highly recommend!

....this would likely be a five star rating. Aerating greens are necessary, but the amount of sand they top dressed with was absurd! Sand “rooster tails” on every putt. Great layout, played with very friendly member who made us forget about the condition of the greens. Amenities are very “muni-like” and surprisingly dated. Staff friendly. Pace of play good. It was a distant second place vote to the two courses we played on this trip (Kelly Plantation beating the Raven in every category).

Over all a good experience. Pro shop staff a bit abrupt and not a lot of patients for some one there the first time. Bag staff very good and helpful.

The course was very wet and cat path / rough only. But over all played well and of the three courses at Sandestin I like it the best.

Great golf course. Super layout, great staff and well manicured. I would encourage everyone to play this one. I would have given 5 stars but the greens had just been aerated which was disclosed and was understood but it still impacted the pleasure of our rounds.
