Raven at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort

Just a few days ago there was 6” of snow on the course. The crew had it in great shape; only drawback was the 90* rule. But better than “cart path only”. Always get paired up with great people. Best golf course hot dogs around!

Play this course often. This is a great track but the lack of friendliness from the starters amazes me.

I always make sure to spend money inside to support the shop. Tip the cart guys well as they are also great.

The people inside the shop are super friendly and helpful.

Then you walk out to someone who is completely cranked out for having to be working never pleasant .

This woman yesterday was yelling at the guy yesterday for wanting his own cart as he had a cough and didn’t want to get anyone sick.

There are plenty of friendly people who would want to work.

Visiting friends in the area, it was 45 degrees and had rained the day and night before. There were large puddles in a few bunkers, but otherwise the course had drained very well. Unfortunately it was cart path only. Like many resort courses, the fairways are pretty wide, but the approach shots and greens are challenging. Water is in play on many holes, but it’s not target golf. I’d be happy to play it again on a nice warm day.

The Raven in Sandestin is a very good golf course and I would highly recommend playing it! Lots of shot selections and conditions were good for early January. The greens rolled extremely nicely!

Todays play was cart path only due to a rain shower overnight we were told however the the course was dry. It obviously slowed our play. The range was was closed too. The course itself was in great shape. I would play the course again as long as it’s not cart path only.

The course was in good shape. Very enjoyable to play. Lots of hazards but wide landing areas .Will definitely play again.

I had an overall great experience. Everyone was very friendly. The course was in great shape. I have friends coming to Destin next week. It will be their first visit to Destin. The first course we are going to play will be the Raven.

Hit up Raven for the first outing of 2025 and it was a great challenge! The course is nice, greens were good for the time of the year, fairways were nice as well. It's a challenging course with some tight fairways and lots of water/sand hazards. I'll definitely come back to play again.

Friendly staff at check in. Joe the starter was great. Greens were in better condition then Baytown.

We are a twosome and are 6-10 handicap golfers.

The 2 they paired us with ( husband/ wife) couldn't hit the ball! Many times they whiffed and lost 3-5 balls per hole.

We started at 1 and played 14 holes because of these extremely painful " golfers" .

I understand the days of golf for golfers are over but this was exceedingly painful. These type of golfers should be at Top Golf or find another sport like bowling.

We won't ever come back.

In terms of course conditions, I would rate them as quite good and typical for a Dec 31 tee time. The practice area was rather soggy though and finding a patch of turf to stand on & hit from in decent condition was tough.

The course design offers a good variety of challenges. Playing the course more than once will help you know when & where to aim your shots to take advantage of the risk/reward opportunities.

The only negative I want to mention was the extremely slow pace of play. Course Marshalls are needed and would be helpful to speed up or hold back offenders. 5 plus hours on course is not my idea of an ideal round.

All things considered, I was happy & feel privileged to be out playing when I could be back home shoveling snow and dealing with sub freezing temps. So yeah...life if good.
