A regular play for this local
I am a local and play all of the public courses on the Emerald Coast. There are two that I really enjoy playing and will do so anytime I can snag a deal. Indian Bayou is a great combination of layout, conditioning, great practice facility and great service. The service starts when you pull into the parking lot and they bring a golf cart to you. Conditions were excellent. Good, quick tempo to the greens but I sure wish people would fix their ball marks. Play here. You will enjoy it.
Vacay Player
This is an old school course that is in great shape!! A little short and somewhat narrow fairways. Fair greens. Only a few greens have sand traps directly in front of greens…..so a great course for old-timers like dad who like to roll-em-up!!!
Great facilities around the golf
Arrived early to warm up before a vacation round. Very nice practice facilities and friendly staff to help guide you in the right direction. Clubhouse features a full restaurant and banquet area, along with some outside seating.
Course plays fair from the appropriate tees. Back side seemed much tighter than the forgiving front side. My daughter played 9 holes on the front nine and enjoyed the course. We played at a good pace for resort golf. Tees and greens were in good shape. Not quick, but consistent.
Awesome
First time playing there and definitely will be back. Course was in great shape and well taken care of. Staff was friendly. Wasn’t many people there the day I went so that was a plus, wasn’t rushed or waiting on groups at all just got to play a steady pace and moved right along. First course I’ve played with the GPS on the carts which was sweet! Carts also came with dry towels and a cold wet towel in the cooler which was really nice. 10/10 from me!

Played today and had a great experience. Greens are in great shape and course is in great shape.
Sneaky long
I have read reviews of wide fairways, not challenging enough. I think the course was fair and also depends where you tee. I had played from the golds and it was sneaky long. Greens were in decent shape but the rain had made them play slow. I would return.
everything was great. only suggestion is Premade sandwiches when kitchen is closed.

Good course
Course was in great shape and pace of play was great. Lots of dog legs. Didn’t feel like it played 7000 yards but was in great shape. Greens were good.
This course is always PURE
This is one of the nicest facilities I’ve ever played. I’m not a big spender when it comes to golf, but GolfNow/Groupon always helps when I’m on vacation. I paid around $80 for a round at Indian Bayou opposed to spending $150 for a regular rate round. I more than got my money’s worth. Greens had just been verticut and sanded around 2 weeks ago and rolled probably at a 10.
Fairways, greens, and sand traps were all groomed to perfection. Divots take easy as opposed to other courses being dry. This facility is very well maintained and groomed. Very friendly staff as well. They always make sure to pick me up at my vehicle and always load, unload, and clean my clubs. (That’s not a luxury I’m use to being from Norteast Georgia.)
Happiest 78 I’ve shot! Beautiful course.
