I enjoy the layout and playing with the member who had course knowledge
Overall, it was great. The greens were punched, but healing, and the ball rolled OK considering the condition.. but slow.
Not What I Expected
This was the first time playing in Destin in quite a while. Several years ago while visiting the Ft. Walton Beach area I had played Kelly Plantation and Regatta Bay. Both courses at that time were outstanding. I thought I would try another course and saw that reviews on golf now were 4 1/2 stars. Quite frankly, after playing the course, I really don't understand that high a rating. Now I realize that everyone has different opinions, however I did not find the course to be that exceptional. The fairways were fairly wide and inviting, and the fairways themselves were okay, but, once off the fairway, i found weeds intermingled with the turf and not well maintained. The staff was friendly, and the starter allowed me to go out by myself (the threesome schedule to play with me never showed). Being that there were foursomes in front of me and behind me, the pace of play was good, Overall, in my mind not a course worth $100. in hindsight I was sorry I didn't drive the 35 minutes to Ft. Walton Beach and play one of the municipal courses there for a lot less money. To be quite frank, I would take my $35 a round semi-private course back in Front Royal, VA over this course any day. Again, just my opinion.
Fun Course
Only reason I didn't give perfect scores is aeration had just been done. Good layout and nice amenities.
Average
Course was alright. Layout is nice and pace of play was perfect. We knew the greens were getting punched but they did not say anything about the fairways being punched. Don’t think it’s worth $100 right now.
Super course and great staff
We enjoyed Indian Bayou once again and plan on playing here whenever we are in Destin. Super staff and very nice course.

First time in the area, enjoyed the course, played quick. Staff was very accommodating, enjoyable round.
Indian Bayou was perfect
Great course and staff. I got teamed up with another individual and he was a nice local guy. Course was in great condition and perfect for my vacation week away from home. Would definitely play here again!

Very friendly layout that is kept up well! Very convenient if staying anywhere on Holiday Isle.
Tourist Trap
Overall Rating - Fair, I can compare Indian Bayou Golf Club to our municipal courses in the Carolinas and or Daytona area, which are in far better shape.
Pace Of Play - Behind a group of five.
Course Conditions - The greens are in great shape once you get on, approach collars all around the course are in need of attention. Seems as though all attention has been to the greens at it shows.
Staff Friendliness - Check in no issues, starter let me out 1 hour early with another group, cart staff exceptional.
Value For The Money - Tourist trap for the tee and Indian Bayou Golf Club isn’t the only one, chatting with the cart staff BEFORE the round, I was told that the course was a great choice for play because its in far better shape than others in the immediate area.
Nothing more here your mileage may vary.
More to come, as I will experience courses around Portofino Island and eastern Alabama.
Course Layout - Is fun, fair and challenging with a few risk reward holes. To take advantage of the aforementioned, you may have to move the ball a foot or so for a cleaner lie in the fairways due to more attention being applied to the greens.
Off-Course Amenities - Again, tourist trap as I traveled from Portofino Island to play in and visit Destin.
