Golfers standing on the Ranch’s first tee might feel, for a second, that they’re on a links course. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

The seventh green. This hole is typical of the par-4’s here: fairly long and definitely challenging. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021
-
The ninth, par-5, 540. “Glacier,” as this hole is dubbed, plays straight downhill. And a bad drive may lead to a “meltdown.” Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

Sixteen, par-5, 618. Another dramatic downhiller named “Ski Hill,” which certainly suggests the thrill of playing it. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

The 18th: par-4, 438. A fitting closer, but also a hole that captures the beauty of New England golf at its finest. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

Very Nice Course. Some Stuff Needs Some Work.
1. Course is great when the course conditions are on, most of the year they are. The bunkers have way too many rocks. And please let folks know when you sand the greens. Maybe even offer a small break on the price - not even a mention of it in the clubhouse. That's no good service.
2. My mistake... I left my range finder in a cart. So yes, I'm left to someone else's good will to turn it in to the shop. If a golfer took it... pox on them. If the course's staff is putting in their pocket... This place has another issue with management.
3. The place is a great course. A little work and it's top notch. You can find some excellent deals online, and I've had some real fun playing, having a beer after the round, and met some real great folks. Go check it out.
Extremely Nice course and layout, 5h pace of play too long
We had a foursome at 12:52 Saturday and enjoyed the course, each hole very unique and nice. However the pace of play was unnecessarily slow. Groups should be encouraged to play more quickly as one or two foursomes can really impact the day for everyone by being so slow.
Fantastic course
Playing at The Ranch is always a first-class experience from the parking lot to the 19th hole. The staff is very friendly, and the golf course is in immaculate condition. My only complaint would be players who do not fix ball marks on the greens. I was surprised by the amount of damage at such a beautiful venue. Players caught leaving damage should be warned then banned.
Great day for fall golf
Was matched up with 3 other golfers, the weather was 70 degrees clear with a 10-15 mph breeze. The course was in perfect shape, fairways cut short and pristine, the rough had been cut but was still high. The greens lighting fast, shots would hold on the green but it was quick.
Precision shot making is a must on some holes or you will pay a price, good shots great scoring opportunities.
One of guys we played with was -1 on the front nine, the rest of us finished 38, 41, & 44. on the front nine. The back nine we hit a roadblock and play was slowed down quite a bit, and it took the edge off everyone's game, As scores went up,
If you play this course for the first time it would help to use GPS and a local who has played there before, The staff was great, Bonnie the beverage cart server is great. A must play if you like private country club conditions at a good price.
Staff/Course
Having worked in the golf industry for years I was taught that your round does not begin on the first tee but in the pro shop. Using GolfNow we felt like we were treated as second class. Played again the following week with the head pro behind the counter. I can see where the young staff gets their attitude. The course is a wonderful layout, excellent condition with a lot of character.
Birthday golf
1st time playing this course and it lived up to all that I have heard about it. It is a long drive for me and a bit pricey. The course is spectacular! Greens were fast as heck. The morning dew blower guy on holes 1-3 was a huge PITA and most likely a non-golfer based on his zeal for blowing and not for heeding to paying guests. All other staff on holes were excellent and friendly as all get out. Bring your camera!
We always enjoy The Ranch
The greens were rolling quick and the course was plush. Keep it straight, though. The rough off the fairways and around the greens is thick.
Fantastic treat!
Playing at The Ranch is always a treat. The course - from tee to green - is always in excellent condition, and the staff is very friendly. It was especially nice on Friday to play golf with my son (it was my birthday treat for him). My only criticism was our meal after the round. The food and service were excellent, but the dining room air conditioning wasn't working, and it was extremely hot.
TPC level at great price
We played on a Golf Now Hot Deal. It was awesome! First class from the second we arrived. Attendant met us at the car, took our bags and confirmed our tee time. Pro in the club house was very professional and knowledgeable. They even got us out early.
Layout is challenging, especially if you are not familiar with the course layout-trust the GPS, it's your friend. Staying in the fairway is a plus, otherwise you're in for a difficult round. The course was in great shape. These were the fastest greens we've played this year-very challenging. Can't say enough good things about all aspects of this course. A must play!
Disappointing! Definitely not one of the top 10 you can play in MA. 5.5 hour round and the only time I saw the ranger he was asking the cart girl to head to the 5th hole because his buddies were out of beer.
Unbelieveable
I was told beforehand by others that The Ranch was a great course...this was a gross understatement...I was checking for my obituary because I thought I'd died and gone to golf heaven. Never played anything quite like it because the likes of places like this course are beyond my means and I only get to watch them on television or I'm in some kind of a dream. Thanks for such a treat. I would recommend planning a trip out this way and play the multiple public courses that are in proximity to The Ranch...save this place for last to really impress yourself or others.
Loved the Course!! Well Maintained and Friendly Staff
In town for work, and found a great deal on golf now. Well worth the $$. This course is challenging for all levels, and rewards the golfer for well placed shots. This is a shotmakers course, and the greens were in great shape! The course has a lot of heather, so make sure you bring enough balls. Friendly staff. Will definately play again when in the area.
Hands down best public course in the Springfield Area++
1 and 10 start out as an open lynx type coarse with tall fescue and huge challenging greens. The bunkers are deep and soft. As you climb in elevation the layout changes to forest type but still with tall fescue and pot bunkers. The views of the distant mountains and hills are breathtaking.
Best western MA course
The most groomed course around. Flat manicured tee boxes and amazing fairways to say the least. Fast and true greens that make other courses seem blah. Good assortment of short, medium and long holes. The holes have good separation so you feel miles away from other groups playing. Very picturesque!!! Every hole looks like a postcard!! Every hole has its own feel so you never feel as if you've played a similar hole earlier in the round. GPS touchscreen on carts as well as club and ball washer. The range has real grass, no mats to hit from. Putting and chipping area also has bunkers to practice from which is a huge bonus when warming up. Pace of play there always seems to be well above average and the staff is always helpful and welcoming. Overall a 11 out of 10 when it comes to value and enjoyment.
