Golfers standing on the Ranch’s first tee might feel, for a second, that they’re on a links course. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

The seventh green. This hole is typical of the par-4’s here: fairly long and definitely challenging. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021
-
The ninth, par-5, 540. “Glacier,” as this hole is dubbed, plays straight downhill. And a bad drive may lead to a “meltdown.” Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021
-
Sixteen, par-5, 618. Another dramatic downhiller named “Ski Hill,” which certainly suggests the thrill of playing it. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

The 18th: par-4, 438. A fitting closer, but also a hole that captures the beauty of New England golf at its finest. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

WOW !
Just so nice !!!! 7142 Y back store... hit the ball !
Fantastic
This course has everything........beautiful conditions, great scenery and holes that make you use all your clubs and think strategically. GPS on carts also very helpful given the elevation changes. This course is ranked as one of the best in the state and it is.....you won't be disssapointed. If you don't hit it straight, bring a lot of balls but the course is so nice you won't care !!
Awsome afternoon
We were traveling in the area and decided to play this course based on ratings here and could not have been more pleased. From tee box to green, the course was in great shape. Definitely a course that we would score better on in future rounds due to not knowing layout and hazards on certain holes. Overall...highly recommended!
All-around great experience.
While quite pricey normally, we found a great GolfNow deal for $50 during midday on a Sunday. The facility was outstanding, start to finish.
Pace of play was fantastic for the front nine, okay on the back. Anytime you finish in under 4 hours is a good time.
Conditions were good, greens rolled true. A little overwatered in some areas, but that's a small complaint. Course is challenging, but fair. A few too many blind shots made it a little tough on a first-timer. Found the par fives to be pretty easy (-2 altogether) for a longer hitter like me.
Food at the turn was prepared fresh and very quickly. Staff very friendly as well. I look forward to coming back someday.
The Ranch Golf Club
The course was in fantastic condition. A real exciting course to play. The staff is great
best course within 50 miles
great conditions, great views. mixture of wide fairways and tight driving holes. lots of elevation changes
Worth it
With exception to the bar, the facility is awesome. Challenging course from the blacks.
This is a must play course
Course was in excellent shape and a great play for $66
Good course bad day
We unfortunately played on Friday July 3rd. When I entered the pro shop they said it was there busiest day of the year. They can monitor the pace of play from the pro shop as all of their carts are GPS equipped. I was very disappointed that it took almost 5 hours and 15 minutes to play our round. Otherwise a good day for golf and I do enjoy this challenging course.
The Ranch
The golf pro shop people were ok as far as friendliness.
The range was nice
the fairways and greens were pristine.
the cart girl was very pleasant.
THE RANCH
Great course with a lot of elevation change. Challenging lay out in which you must use every club in your bag
Great course experience
The course was in great condition. Not crowded so pace moved right along.
White tees are fair. Much tougher test from the blues.
A Bucket List Course
If The Ranch Golf Club is not on your golfing bucket list, it certainly should be. In my opinion, it is one of the best public golf courses in New England. It has that a private course look and feel. I found it a well kept and conditioned course. It's location, on a hillside, has many beautiful views that, in the fall, must be striking.
Although the greens fees are on the high side ($75 weekdays, $89 weekends, plus $20 for a cart) the visual and golfing experience is well worth every cent. The greens fees include use of the driving range with unlimited balls, but bring your own tees as you will be hitting off turf not mats. There are large, expensive houses being built near the course, but these don't enter into play. Actually, some are awesome just to look at. The course has allowed this building to offset increasing maintenance costs for the course. It should keep the fees low for some time.
Our electric carts, which I recommend as the course is very hilly, were equipped with a multi-function GPS that I found hard to read in bright sunlight.but was otherwise very useful. The cart also had a built-in ball and club washer.
The course length ranges from 7174 from the tips to 6103 (white) to 4983 (forward). I found the fairways very wide and groomed better than some greens I've played on. Many holes had forced carries over water or marsh, also blind tee/fairway shots and various doglegs. I still found the layout very fair.
Upon reaching the greens I was surprised to see the first cut putt-able and very wide on most greens. This is rare for public courses. You may hit a lot of greens in regulation here because they are huge, and not tricked up with tough pin placements.
The Bistro (19th hole) is roomy and comfortable, the wait staff plentiful and friendly, and the food very good. Overall, I felt like I was home in my own ranch.
Put THIS course on YOUR Bucket List.
Ranch
Got a good deal on Golfnow. Would not pay full green fee for this course. Great track. They need to spend some money watering and maintaining the greens. This is a $60-70 course. Definitely not $125.
Great design
The Ranch experience had a private club feel open to the public. My wife and I enjoyed the design the facilities and the service. The forward tees and large greens were receptive enough for both of us to enjoy. I would recommend this track for high handicap expirienced to advanced players.
A great time
This was one of the more enjoyable rounds of golf I've played in recent time. I was paired with three other players and had a lot of fun and laughs as well as a competitive match to boot. The price savings really helped and having a nice range to warm up was a decided plus. Hope my next golf round is half as much fun as this one was.
good day at the ranch
as allways , the Ranch is beautifull. Great holes ,great condition.
great layout
excellent course that is a challenge.you will use all your clubs.great greens
Best in New England
As beautiful as this course is the only thing better than the course is the staff. It was my first time playing here and they made me feel like a 30 year member. Food was outstanding only know him as chef but his steak sandwich was absolutely amazing and can't wait to get back there for the golf and the food.
This is the best course in Western Ma. Beautiful in the fall.
This is an amazing course nestled in the hillsides of Southwick. The course has some of the most challenging fairways and greens in New England. The staff is awesome. An absolute must play.
To clarify The Ranch's rates, the greens fees range from $89 at peak days/times to $59 after 2PM 7 days a week. This rate includes the golf cart and the driving range.
