Golfers standing on the Ranch’s first tee might feel, for a second, that they’re on a links course. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

The seventh green. This hole is typical of the par-4’s here: fairly long and definitely challenging. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021
-
The ninth, par-5, 540. “Glacier,” as this hole is dubbed, plays straight downhill. And a bad drive may lead to a “meltdown.” Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

Sixteen, par-5, 618. Another dramatic downhiller named “Ski Hill,” which certainly suggests the thrill of playing it. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

Sixteen: a closer view of the final approach. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

The 18th: par-4, 438. A fitting closer, but also a hole that captures the beauty of New England golf at its finest. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

Worth the drive
Great course and a must play if anywhere near the course. Drove 1hr. 20 minutes and will do it again since the course is great. Nice people, great fairways and beautiful setting. I would suggest staying to eat lunch or dinner after the round since the food was also good and sat outside on the patio as the sun was setting at end of day.
One of the best in MA
I forgot how much I love this course. It starts with the drive down Sunnyside Rd when you catch a glimpse of the yellow gambrel clubhouse and several nearby holes. Conditions were tremendous even after a summer full of 90+ degree days. This is a thinking man's course, but there are also plenty of places to just smash driver off the tee. The GPS carts are incredibly helpful and other elite public courses should take notes from The Ranch. There are a few throwaway holes, but there are also many memorable holes, especially #1, 4, 6, 9, 13, 14, 16, and 17. I typically make the 2 hr drive on a yearly basis, but I'll be trying to come back more often in the future. And for $39 with cart, the price was unbelievable.
Of all the public courses in MA, I'd put The Ranch, Crumpin-Fox, and Red Tail at the top of the list.
Beautiful course!
This was my first visit to The Ranch Golf Course and I had heard a lot of good comments about it. It is really beautiful and peaceful! You will enjoy golfing there with your friends. The facilities are nice... my first experience of a nice and clean real restroom in a golf course! LOL! I definitely will visit this golf course again.
Little over rated
I thought the course for all the hype i heard about would have been nicer. Too many homes on the course take away some of the great vistas that the course has to offer. not a walker friendly course at all.Even with a cart you had a 40-70 yard walk to the green.
Excellent conditions
Course is immaculate! Need a ranger on course to move along non courteous players. Waited on every shot for at least seven or eight holes for the foursome in front of my twosome. Nobody in front of them!!
So sllooowwwwwww
Played 14 holes in 4.5 hrs. Awful. No Rangers??
We were a twosome and a threesome teeing off just before 1pm on Sunday. Told to expect a 4 1/2 hour round. Sadly it was going to be at least an hour longer than that.
Definitely something to consider when planning to play this course
Slow
We spent 4.5 hours golfing waiting on every slow player, totally unexceptable after about the 14th hole we had to shut it down because we had to get ready to head back to Florida. I will be back but I hope the pace is a lot better. Thank You
Amazing course
I have played this course three times so far it's a bit of a drive for me but it's worth every minuet I would recommend this course to anyone and in my opinion it's a must play
Excellent Course/ Afternoon Discount
Modern electric carts with GPS. Friendly staff. 5 teeing areas, great for all levels of play. Nice practice range. True rolling greens, very fast. Played just before a tournament. Hilly, challenge to walk.
Challengin course in a beautiful setting
This was a great last minute hot deal! As a first time player at this course, I was very pleased with the layout and conditions. It was helpful to be paired up with a golfer that had some local knowledge of the course. The only issue that I found was that other golfers were not repairing their ball marks on the greens and, someone was scuffing their feet on the greens as well.
WOW !
Just so nice !!!! 7142 Y back store... hit the ball !
Fantastic
This course has everything........beautiful conditions, great scenery and holes that make you use all your clubs and think strategically. GPS on carts also very helpful given the elevation changes. This course is ranked as one of the best in the state and it is.....you won't be disssapointed. If you don't hit it straight, bring a lot of balls but the course is so nice you won't care !!
Awsome afternoon
We were traveling in the area and decided to play this course based on ratings here and could not have been more pleased. From tee box to green, the course was in great shape. Definitely a course that we would score better on in future rounds due to not knowing layout and hazards on certain holes. Overall...highly recommended!
All-around great experience.
While quite pricey normally, we found a great GolfNow deal for $50 during midday on a Sunday. The facility was outstanding, start to finish.
Pace of play was fantastic for the front nine, okay on the back. Anytime you finish in under 4 hours is a good time.
Conditions were good, greens rolled true. A little overwatered in some areas, but that's a small complaint. Course is challenging, but fair. A few too many blind shots made it a little tough on a first-timer. Found the par fives to be pretty easy (-2 altogether) for a longer hitter like me.
Food at the turn was prepared fresh and very quickly. Staff very friendly as well. I look forward to coming back someday.
The Ranch Golf Club
The course was in fantastic condition. A real exciting course to play. The staff is great
best course within 50 miles
great conditions, great views. mixture of wide fairways and tight driving holes. lots of elevation changes
Worth it
With exception to the bar, the facility is awesome. Challenging course from the blacks.
This is a must play course
Course was in excellent shape and a great play for $66
Good course bad day
We unfortunately played on Friday July 3rd. When I entered the pro shop they said it was there busiest day of the year. They can monitor the pace of play from the pro shop as all of their carts are GPS equipped. I was very disappointed that it took almost 5 hours and 15 minutes to play our round. Otherwise a good day for golf and I do enjoy this challenging course.
The Ranch
The golf pro shop people were ok as far as friendliness.
The range was nice
the fairways and greens were pristine.
the cart girl was very pleasant.
