About
The Aquila Golf Course facility offers two golf courses; one is a championship length course while the other is a par-3, nine-hole course. The championship course provides an excellent game of golf for an affordable price. There are scenic views of mountains and downtown Phoenix as well as a challenging layout featuring several water hazards and bunkers. Although the terrain is rather hilly, it is still relatively walkable. The course has an excellent range of holes that each have a unique character, the par 5's are especially notable. Native grasses and wildflowers are also present on Aquila's Championship course, further adding to its natural beauty.

Course is great but you never know if the range is going to close
Love this track, play it regularly. Administratively they don't communicate course availability, for example. Jr golf tournaments are happening and they close the range to the taxpaying public. Other courses such as Legacy down the road from Aguila are hosting same Jr Golf and they don't close the range to the public, with no postings externally so you park and walk up and these guys working there tell you " oh sorry were closed to public" i dont think that's good management or communication. Get it together and don't close to public unless the entire course is closed! It
Favorite Phoenix Muni
We love playing Aguila. It’s in a beautiful setting with South Mountain in the background. Always in good shape. It won’t beat you up, with wide fairways and moderate elevation changes. It has a couple of fun risk-reward par 4’s. Look forward to playing it again when we snowbirds return in January.
Great Golf Course
Best overall golf course in the valley! Don’t laugh cause it’s true. Great fairways, tee boxes, greens and bunkers. Very friendly golf shop staff. Beats all those $150-$200 + courses in the winter. But if you want to spend that kind of money stay away please!

Great value
Played here on Sunday and although it was hot, had a great time. The course was in great shape, even more so than some of the more expensive courses around the valley. It is a muni course, so limited frills, but the course is well maintained and provides a challenge for all different skill levels. I will definitely be back.

Solid solid shape. Puts other private courses to shame for this time of year. Just wish they had coolers. Bags of ice for drinks is not the business in 105+

A very fun course to play. Summer conditions can hurt a course but they seem to do a good job

Excellent challenge for good players.
Good conditions. They actually have sand in their bunkers, unlike many others.

Fun Day at Aguila
You still can see miner hole indentation on the green post aerification few weeks back. Fairway is in good shape especially in this July heat. Overall great value for the $ as this is one of my favorite public course in the valley.

Aguila is a “hidden in the open” gem. I hope the word is out that if you think you’re a player, then you need to pit your game against this course. If you don’t, too bad for you.

Great City of Phoenix course
Course was in pretty good shape except the greens has recently been aerated and were quite bumpy in some places. Other than that very nice place to play for a summer time rate I think it could be slightly less money considering we are in the extreme heat of summer!
