About
The Aquila Golf Course facility offers two golf courses; one is a championship length course while the other is a par-3, nine-hole course. The championship course provides an excellent game of golf for an affordable price. There are scenic views of mountains and downtown Phoenix as well as a challenging layout featuring several water hazards and bunkers. Although the terrain is rather hilly, it is still relatively walkable. The course has an excellent range of holes that each have a unique character, the par 5's are especially notable. Native grasses and wildflowers are also present on Aquila's Championship course, further adding to its natural beauty.

Good municipal course
Nice course. Pace of play was a little slow in the morning but tolerable. Our foursome finished 18 holes in 4 hours and 10 minutes. Course is firm and the greens were fast.
Slow slow slow.
Waited almost 5 mins per hole to tee off! They do the same thing they do on the 9 hole first come first goes out. Need to make tee times mean something.
Course over all was good greens are very poor and had bald spots and look like they have never had the pitch marks fixed! Fairways were good and well mowed! I gave it 3 stars because of the pace of play and the greens being so poor. Course layout was good easy to follow. The staff was very friendly as normal. If they fixed the greens and fixed the pace of play I’d 100% up my star rating.

The pace of play was great. The greens were not in very good shape for the $65 price tag. I love the course though.

Spring time Swing time
When you get perfect weather, course conditions that exceed expectations and solid play from your foursome then you must have been at Aguila for a beautiful round of golf. Yes there were the usual bumps and lumps during the round, but those 15 ft. putts that drained and the drive that was center cut and that chip that cozied up to the flagstick made this day of golf special and most rewarding.
Aguila provides the terroir with views of the South Mountains and the Estrellas in the distance and a top notch course that is a good test of golf from any of the tees. The Super and his crew need a bump in pay for the super course conditions ! And don't forget the pro shop and outside staff too !

Value
Easily the best course for your money at this time in the valley. Pace of play was fairly slow which is to be expected this time of year. Greens and fairways are fantastic. Saw the cart girl once.

Course in great shape
This is probably the best Phoenix owned golf course the fairways were in great shape good sand in the traps and very reasonable cost

This course is in great condition
Upon arrival checked in went to starter and checked in with him. In 2 minutes we were on the tee and ready to go.
The course is in great shape . The fairways are in great shape. They are a little tight in places. The greens are in great shape also . If you like fast greens .play this course.
Had a good time it was slow some of the time but the group in front of us who slowed us down quit after nine and our play increased .

Great condition
Great course .. a Marshall would be helpful to get people to play faster .. our round took 4 1/2 hours .. way too long

Good course in great condition
From out of town and played for the first time last weekend. Solid setup, par 3s on the easy end, but enjoyed most of the holes, some good risk/reward opportunities. Course was in fantastic shape, some of the best greens I’ve played, fast and true. Overall really good public course, will be back.

The greens were very trying but in great shape. Fairways very good and tee boxes were ok but, not great. Enjoyed the scenery. Will be back for sure.
