Aguila Nine Golf Course

The course is in good shape for a public course and the pace of play was fine. A ranger was on the course and apologized for a slow foursome, but it was really not a problem. Appreciate the assistance! We hit balls on the range--good balls and the facility is fine. I think the layout is fairly challenging based on the course rating. Hit the ball straight or you can be challenged with a desert shot! The greens were in good shape and challenging. The carts are in good condition and clean. Will definitely return.

Except for the pace of play, it was an enjoyable round. The course is in reasonably good shape and provides a good challenge of golf.

My wife and I went out late Sunday morning and even though we were running a bit late, they worked us in anyhow.

Although the burmuda rough was all brown, that's to be expected since it's winter time and it was still well-trimmed. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition it was obvious that they put a lot of care into maintaining the course. Even after a week of rain, there were no puddles or muddy spots in he fairways, showing an ample amount of planning for drainage in the design.

The pace was fine, for being so busy, although we had a minor confrontation with the group behind us who started landing balls within 10 yards from us while we waited just a minute or two for the group in front of us to be clear. Some people are just too impatient and need to relax and enjoy the day.

My only criticism is that, the flags are all white, and although they showed a number for the pin placement at the beginning of each 9, they didn't provide a pin chart to tell you what that meant for each hole. Cave Creek, another course in the Phoenix golf network, does the same thing, but hang a pin chart up in each cart so you know where the pin on each hole is placed.

Other than that, we both loved the course and will definitely be going back.

Worried at first because of the two players fees were less than $60 on the day of Christmas, but it was in a great shape especially in greens. Only downside was there was no beverage cart but understandable it was Christmas and found that the pin placement was 3, but there was no paper or on the score card to show how to read the pin placement.

This was my second time playing this course, but my wife's first time. It's a great course for people who are looking to perfect their game. Everything from the staff to the greens is on par (Pun intended).

My wife is just learning how to play golf and was not intimidated by the course, yet the course still gives my short game great practice. The approach and lay of the greens are all unique.

This is a VERY well kept course. The par 3 course is not a difficult course but is a great place to practice your irons. And the value for the money - can't be beat! Highly recommend this course.

Excellent! The staff is very courteous, and the course itself is beautiful! Many 9 hole courses are flat and uninteresting, but not here. This is the 3rd time I've played here, and I will continue to play at Aguila!

Played the 9 hole course and was a bit hesitant but was very pleased with overall experience. First time walking a course and had a great experience. You can't beat the value, online as well as in person rate was unbelievable. Kept waiting for the catch but there were none.

I was looking for a nice Par 3, 9 hole golf course that offered reasonable rates. I was golfing on my own and as I am not a skilled golfer as of yet I did not want the pressure of holding up anyone behind me. I read some good reviews about this course so I chose it. The course was just over 1000 yards and offered an amazing backdrop of beautiful mountains, and the greens were very nicely maintained. I reserved a tee time through golfarizona.com. I received a great discount on the green fees to play this course and it included some practice balls.
The staff were super friendly and the fellow that helped me get my rental clubs was a pro golfer. Another nice man drove me in a golf cart the short distance to the practice area where i had a hit some warm up shots.
This must have worked because I got a "Hole in One" on the first hole. It was a 103 yards and the nice couple that i met who were just ahead of me saw it go in. My first ever hole in one. I still ended up above par on my game, but it was one of the best overall golf experiences ever. I will be back next time I am in Arizona!

Aquila, for the play it receives as a muni, stays in great shape....especially the greens. Rolling fast and smooth. Play there a lot and it is always worth the money.

This is a great way to play a quick round of golf and get a lot of short game practice for not much money.

I have never played a city course in such great shape right out of overseed. Kudos to the super and crew for a job well done. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. I love playing this walkable Gary Panks design and with the trees maturing, the course or even more beautiful. And there is shade too!

Only negative is no Coke or Pepsi products? Diet RC? What year is this? 1981? My only complaint, as goofy as it is.

Got stuck behind a freshman five some golf team with their coaches walking. Nightmare...they thought it was their own private course and could have cared less there were people behind them, how rude. Found out the pro there allowed this. (5) hours and twenty minutes was awful. Would have been nice to see a ranger and get things moving but no such luck! I'd play there again but will check to see who/what is in front of me before doing so.

The greenskeepers take great pride in their work. Office staff is much more receptive and friendly then in past years. For those two reasons, I do not mind spending my hard earned dollars at Aguila.

Fairways being prepped for over seeding been sneezing for last 24 hours. Greens rolled well but lot of debris on them. Best city course on a beautiful day hard to complain

I've played this course a couple of dozen time, and I feel like it's one of the better values no matter the time of year. The only negative has always been the food and beverages offered here. Great mix of challenging and "easy" holes, but the entire course is payable and fun.

Course was in good shape. Had a backlog on the third hole and some people didn't want to pair up so it was a slow round. Shots into the greens actually held, so that was a nice change of pace from most courses around here. They lock the parking lot gates at 7:30 pm so don't even think about finishing a round if the sun is going down. We got in 16 holes in 4.5 hours, so book your tee time prior to 2:30 if you want to finish. Of course, this was a Sunday and it was a beautiful day so I will cut them a little slack on this one.
