Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club

Would highly recommend this. Played it for the first time. Great deal for the money during the summer. Conditions very good for this time of year. Just bring some bug spray.

Course was in fantastic shape for the season and had a very challenging layout. Amenities were nice; practice range above standard and balls included. Fairways and rough were maintained well with very few tight lies. Carts were very comfortable and included range finder tech screen.

Only negative aspect was the abundance of pesky flies on course even though breezy. There were also flies inside restaurant/lounge so that we moved twice to avoid. It could have been a seasonal thing or anomaly but was not expected or an experience I’ve had on other courses I play in the area.

Simply put, there is no finer golf course in the state. The staff is awesome, the layout is perfect, the practice facilities are top notch and the course itself was in great shape. My only observation was that the practice greens were a bit faster than the greens on the course...not a huge deal, but something to prepare for when you play the round. I love this course, and my golfing soul is fulfilled each time I'm fortunate enough to play it.

Challenging layout that rewards shot placement of tee shot. Course was in good shape, gets plenty of water. Greens were slow. Rough was high. Good luck finding your ball if you don't hit the fairway. Overall very nice facility. Will go back again even through it was a45 minute drive to get there.

Great shape for summer. Will be back often this summer.

My first time playing Ak Chin and I’m very impressed. Thank you to the staff, starters, and Marshal. We had a group of idiots playing from the tips in front of us which could have resulted in a 5 hour round. But the Marshall took control and got them moving, and we finished in under 4 hours. Course conditions were fantastic. This course is difficult and distance comes at a premium (it’s long) so high handicaps do yourself and everyone else a favor and play from the correct tees. I’m a 12 HC and the gold tees (6900) were pretty tough. Likely next time I’ll try the blue tees. The par 3s were all demanding. The entire layout was really fun and testing. I wouldn’t pay the premium winter prices to play here (I’ve seen well over $150), but that goes for most high ends tracks in the valley. They have chilled water on every 3 holes which is fantastic during the summer heat. I loved my day at Ak Chin and I’m excited to get back and play ASAP.

Great golf oasis in middle of desert! Just a little to far to travel to make it a regular. Otherwise a great track to bring your visiting friends or family.

Group in front of us playing at least two tees back of where they should have been. Waited on every shot. Never saw a marshal. Nice course overall.
