Quintero Golf Club
About
Located in the desert just north of Phoenix and Scottsdale, the golf course at Quintero Golf Club is a challenge but with up to as many as nine tees per hole, it can accommodate golfers of all different abilities and handicaps. The rolling, desert terrain of the course features dramatic elevation changes for interesting play. The golf course's design has wide fairways and plenty of water hazards and sand bunkers. The most difficult hole is the par-5 8th hole, which plays uphill with three large bunkers alongside the right side of the lay-up area. Another difficult but noteworthy hole is Quintero Golf Club's third, which has a scenic lake to the left that sometimes tricks golfers into playing close to it with their tee shot for an easier second shot to the green.

Quintero
Make sure to choose the correct tees for your handicap you will have a more enjoyable experience . Awesome golf course hope to play again.
Worth the drive
I've not played a ton of golf in the Phoenix area, but I think this course has to belong on a "must play" list. Its a little more difficult than the average course with its elevation changes, but there weren't forced carries that I would call unreasonable as long as you select the proper tee boxes.
Only downfall was there had been a little rain the night before and they restricted us to cart path only even though the course didn't seem wet at all (sunridge canyon and verrado were wetter and we could drive on fairways there).
during our recent trip we played southern dunes, estrella, victory, quintero, sunridge canyon and las sendas. I would rate this with the best of the bunch in views and layout and condition (sunridge and estrella were at the bottom for condition as the rough didn't exist and was matted down to essentially be dirt like). I rated the value as average because the course is expensive and its worth what you pay, but its as much or more than most guest fees at really good country clubs in the area.
Overall it was a great experience and I'll play it again when I'm in the area.
Beautiful Course but terrible follow-up service
This is one of 6 courses we played during an annual golf trip to Phoenix with 7 of my colleagues.
The course and amenities are fantastic, but my buddy had his clubs stolen from the bag drop after the round. The clubs were handed over to the staff following our round and when we went to leave (30 minutes later) they were nowhere to be found.
Even though he was assured by the staff on duty that the course would take full responsibility to replace the stolen items, more than 2 weeks have now passed and he's still fighting for resolution and a commitment from the course management that they will in fact replace the full value of the clubs, estimated at over $3,500.
Great course but it's a shame that they aren't willing to step up and take responsibility for something that was their fault, especially considering the cost of the green fees.
Incredible Golf Course but Slow Play
For anyone who loves golf this is a must play. The views, course layout and condition are world class and I mean truly amazing . Unfortunately the day we played was a 5+ hour round. No reason for that as they did have marshals on the course. This is the most scenic and well designed high desert golf course I have seen. it is out in the middle of nowhere so be advised that you need to have lead time to get there. Well worth it though provided pace of play is better. they did give us a credit toward future play when we complained so that says something.
Overrated
Don't get me wrong it is a wonderful course but shouldn't be number one in Arizona. And Arizona is known for over charging any course you play. This course was very challenging. It is worth the experience, however for the price range in peak season I would not go back. I would say fair price for this course is $60-$90. I am able to say I play Quintero and that is is a beautiful course, but I wouldn't say number one in Arizona. The views are worth the drive.
Course advice: You will be paying to shoot one of your worst rounds. What ever tees you think you should go from, go one up. Keep driver in you're bag for a lot of the holes 3 wood or hybrid are smart plays.
Quintero designed by Rees Jones.,A must play
Quintero was about 45 minutes from Cave Creek and was an easy drive. Its best to get there a little early because its a few minute cart ride to the driving range and the start of the golf course. There are no houses visible on the course and its hilly and very scenic
All of the employees were professional, courteous and helpful.
There are 5 sets of tees and combinations of them ranging from 5043 yards to 7249 yards and a slope rating of 148.
The par 3's on this course are all pretty long even though they are downhill so I would say look at those yardages when deciding which tees to play.
A ball must be hit high to stay on the greens, low balls and low chips will definitely roll out and its best to play to the fat part of these very fast greens.
Our pace slowed a little on the back but it was a 4:15 round. There were water bottles in the cart, water on the course, a food and beverage station, and a cart girl that we saw numerous times. The GPS in the cart was very useful for this course. All in all a very fun and challenging course to play.
Worth the $260!
When we arrived we were greeted by the outside staff, in the proshop we were well informed of the facility... we were told it's a mile from proshop to 1st tee/practice facility it was a gorgeous scenic mile and when we got there everything is lush green couldn't ask for better conditions greens were on point ran 13 on stempmeter fairways were amazing stripes all day! I loved the track too many holes to pick a favorite. Pace of play was great even had time to hit some more balls after the round I would Definetly come back those conditions are second to none! (Be sure to book tee time ahead of time because tee times fluctuate)
Very beautiful Golf course that presents a good challenge
I was very impressed with the layout of the course. It cut through the desert so inconspicuously. The fairways and tee boxes were in fantastic shape. The rough was non existent and the greens were cut way too short. The fringe around the greens served as a border, twice the ball careened off the fringe wall back onto the green. Because the greens were so short they were incredibly hard making it difficult to stick. Several good shots bounced through.
The course is just beautiful
The staff is lovely, and smiling makes me feel like home. My dad loved it as well since he does not get to experience these types of conditions very often.
A must! Worth the drive!!
Its about a 45 min drive for me. At one point I thought to myself "where am I going?". Once I got onto the course I realized what all the fuss was about. Each hole is different than the other. I'm pretty sure I used every club in my bag as each shot demanded thought and accuracy. Yes it is an above average course in regards to toughness. But that doesnt take away from it being a very enjoyable round. The views from the par 3s are picture worthy. All but one are elevated. I will be back!!
Perfection!
There are some golf courses that when you play them you know it will be a round that you remember for ever. This is that type of golf course.
BEST COURSE IN ARIZONA
Once you play this course you will fall in love and want to play everyday. The course is always in great condition and the pride is apparent in how well the course is maintained. To top that off the staff is amazing and extremely friendly, all they care about is that you enjoy your round they truly treat you like friends. Always my # 1 recommendation to anyone looking for a place to play in the area.
Best Greens in the Valley
You won’t find green that roll any more pure than at Quintero Golf Club.
A true gem
There’s a reason I always come back to Quintero when I’m visiting relatives in Phoenix. It’s simply a pure golf experience. I tend to prefer fast greens and Quintero always has them rolling quick and true.
From a design perspective, each holes is unique and carved through the canyons. The par 3’s are a strong suit and provided lots of elevation changes. For whatever reason there are 2 courses I don’t ever miss when visiting the area 1) Quintero and 2) Southern Dunes. They may be on opposites sides of town but they’re both can’t miss places to play.
Side note: pick the right tees as this course can be challenging!
The best course in Arizona
I love this golf course I played it for the first time probably five years ago. I look for specials all the time I would play this course more if it wasn’t so far from me and if it didn’t get so expensive in the winter. If you haven’t tried it please plan on making a trip out there you won’t regret it. Love love love this course!
Excellent
Fantastic Course with great conditions and amazing views. Don't skip this one on your next trip to Arizona!
one of a kind
for the value, the course is the best in the west valley. Well worth the time.
Challenging with fabulous views
This course is 50 min from Scottsdale, so it’s a good drive and an all day event. Outside service staff are not the friendliest people. Driving range was very crowded on the weekend. I found the course very challenging from the forward tees. Views were spectacular and worth the drive. I wish the clubhouse offered nice dining options as it wold be great to have a leisurely lunch after the round .
The course was perfect!!
I am from Seattle, wa. Every year/ couple times a year I come down to golf. We chose Quintero based off the reviews. The course did NOT disappoint! The price to play was awesome. There was no one behind us, and no one in front of us the whole time!! We ended playing 36 that Saturday. Everything from tee to green was in phenomenal shape. Me, my dad, uncle will for sure be back the next trip down! Thank you for a great experience with beautiful landscape, and views.
It’s Out There, But Worth It
This course consistently has those key elements that you just don’t get at other courses in the valley. This is a hard course with fast greens and well manicured fairways and tee boxes. If it weren’t for the threat of rattlesnakes (didn’t see any) I would walk this course barefoot.
This was the fourth time I have played Quintero, it was a treat and a beautiful day!
