Magnolia Point Golf & Country Club

Course is great. No issues there. The ranger working Friday Feb 23 has no clue what he is doing. First he approached us at hole 5 and told us to keep it to 15 mins per hole. We teed off at 730 and it was 820. So we were 10 mins ahead of pace. Fine no problem. He then approached us at the 8th tee box and said the 3some behind us were “great” players and that he wanted to let them play through when we reached the 9th tee box. At this point we were 12 mins ahead of pace and had not even seen the group behind us. So at the 9th tee he is waiting for us. We stand around for 13 mins waiting for the “great” group behind us. We wait another 8-10 mins for them to tee off and the clear the FW. Mind you as they pull away the 3 some behind them pulls up to the tee box. Now we went from 12 mins ahead of “his clock” to 10-11 mins behind “his clock”. I rarely complain about rangers and I’ve been playing for 20 plus years. But this guy was rude and incompetent. He has NO business being a ranger. Pls train him or terminate his employment. He was THAT bad. Thank you.

It has been dry which is a plus for this course. Greens look beautiful. Tricky though. Very interesting grass. Fairways and greens both look great but stay on em. Anything off the FW or Greens and you will have a sketchy bare lie at best. And you better have a good punch out game. Especially on the front 9. Mag Point is a great layout. Great course. Challenging in spots and easy in others. Great to see it so playable. Highly recommended.

My wife and played this course and would recommend it to both men and women. Course had a great variety of hole layouts. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars was the fairways had some bare spots but the the greens were in excellent shape. I'm more than happy to trade off some bare spots for greens that are in great shape. Staff in the pro shop were very friendly. Cheers

Greens in very good shape. Rest of course is in rough shape. Thin to bare fairways.

Layout is also kind of funky with extreme dog legs and second shots on par 4s as long as your tee shot.

Tees and greens were in decent shape. Greens were about an 8 on stimp , but they rolled nicely . Fairways for Feb were ok, but you need to play winter rules.

We played behind a foursome playing a 2 man scramble, they moved slower than a snails pace. No marshall seen on course.

I played this course twice in January (I was in the area for less than two weeks). Both times were thoroughly enjoyable. The greens and tee boxes are the best of any of the publicly accessible courses that I have played.

The staff is accommodating and friendly.

There were other courses that are much closer but I felt it worth the longer ride to play Magnolia.

They were in great condition, as was the rest of the course.

Challenging course with several interesting holes. Teas and greens are in excellent shape.. cart person came around four times during my round. Prices were reasonable. Also, five dollars for a small bucket of golf balls.

Nice layout with interesting and exciting holes. Would probably be much more fun to play in the summer. The course was Bermuda with no over seed and very brown sandy, muddy with washed away spots. Greens were a bit slow. But really don't want to give them a bad review because the staff was so nice. But for this time of the year there are several courses in the area in much better shape.

Due to prior rain ,had to play front nine twice but the greens were the best putted on in many years They were true & rolled well !! The fairways were minus grass in lot of areas but plush greens made up for it
