Golfer Reviews
Great course especially for cost
Great course, good fairways, great greens. Greens were a little slow mainly because it was really humid and rained the prior day, but you will not beat this course for the price they charge. Extremely fair cost which is nice with everyone charging way too much for subpar conditions. Will definitely be back!
Good valiue
Magnolia Point is a good value for the price. It's fun to play there.
Pretty but slow
The greens are beautiful but really slow. Every time I do a review on this course I say the exact same thing.
Nice course, slow play on a Sunday
Course was in good shape, greens were slow, pace of play was annoyingly slow so maybe they overbook I'm not suren1st time I have played here. Took us about 4:45min to play a round teeing off at 950am.
Visiting golfers
First time back in St Augustine Area from Toronto Canada in 4 years and disappointed that St John course closed for renovations so we tried Magnolia
Decent layout; all holes well separated ad per course web site. Certainly best conditions of 3 courses we played on our trip but a little off the ‘club’ levels conditions at similar price rates back home. Greens were immaculate but needed cutting and played unreasonably slow
A bit put off by marshal following us for three holes and splitting us from the local twosome he had paired us with and sending them ahead. We were told a tournament coming behind us and told we had to be off next tee in 20 minutes??? We were on time me at this point
Not sure if this attention was due to a) our being non member tourists or B) that I was a bit offline off the tee in hole 1and 3 OR c) that I was paired with my wife who was playing off the forward tees and perhaps considered slow
We played 18 in 4 hours and 10 minutes. We waited on every tee or fairway for the balance of the round for the pairing ahead of us with no groups visible ahead of them. WE were not the slow pairing
I understand the marshals have a role but his attitude seemed based on some level of prejudice and took the shine off the experience somewhat. Maybe why i prefer Muni courses
In the end I liked the course but don’t know that we will play on future trips
Looks great!
Awesome layout. Green are beautiful. But slow as all get out so be prepared for that. Smack that putt! We’ll be back!
A good day at Magnolia Point
I haven’t played here for quite a while. The course is in very good shape. Some fairways and greens are being worked on but overall the tee boxes, fairways, and greens are good to very good.
Pace of play was 3:30. The ranger helped me with a slow group ahead (I was alone) to play through.
Magnolia is a good golf course
Nice course for the $$ and you will not find a better mushroom Swiss burger ANYWHERE!
