Where did it all go wrong?
Magnolia Point is a great layout and great course. UNFORTUNATELY, it is almost unplayable now. I receive emails from them and they sent me a few saying the greens were in great shape after their last aeration. I should’ve known when they dropped the price to $40. The greens were a disaster, the course wasn’t mowed., the tee boxes were a wreck from animal damage. They have taken a once beautiful course and let it fall apart.
So the ranger comes around and gives us some buy one get one free drink passes. We decided to go have lunch after the round. We ordered drinks but were limited to draft beers or well brand liquors. The bartender brought us menus but never came back to take our food order for at least 30 min even though there was only 6 or 7 other people in the bar. We gave up on eating.
If the course would’ve been honest in their emails I wouldn’t have been so mad but I told my crew it was in great shape only to show up and find this mess. And it’s a long way to go to play in that disaster.
I won’t be playing there anytime again soon
Not worth it...
First time playing at this course and it was a let down. First three holes, the greens are so beat up it almost made me get in my car and go home. This course needs a complete makeover and is not worth the 45 dollar round. I'd suggest going somewhere else until the conditions get better...

Great course Slow pkay
The course was outstanding and in great shape. U fortunately it took almost 5 hours to get around. The group three ahead of us was painfully slow putting three groups on a hole at the same time just waiting for them to finish
Great course
Offers some elevation changes and course conditions are highly improved. Only negative was that greens are a bit bumpy and slow. They are working on improving the green constantly and are making great progress.

No Marshal and slow play
The course is challenging and in good shape but it took almost 5 hours to get around. No staff are monitoring the pace of play. There was also someone who we originally thought was a staff member who gave us free drink cards while we were playing. When we looked to cash them in we were told that they didn’t accept them. Later in the round (17th hole) we saw the same guy and we was very drunk and was announcing/commenting on our play and how to hit the ball to the par 3. He was right up in our faces.

Spotty Greens
Many of the greens and t-boxes were in poor shape and were recently sanded. I have been playing this course for several years and was disappointed. The greens are struggling. Fairways were in pretty good shape, however.
Thank you for your honest feedback. We know that our greens are not where we want them to be and we are working diligently to get them back as fast as we can. We hope you will be back in a few weeks to see the improvements!
OK golf course
We played Magnolia Point for $38 and it was okay. Greens needed to be cut and the tee areas needed work but they were playable. Fairways had certain areas which needed work but overall playable. Course took a lot of rain so there were areas that showed erosion and were soft. But again for $38 it was ok.

The recent rain has definitely taken its toll on certain areas of the course and our team is working hard to address these issues as quickly as possible. We are still working our way on our height of cut for our greens because the heat has been extreme and we don't want to lose our greens all-together. We appreciate the fact that you see the value and we hope that you will be back as we are improving every day!
Great course
This was a great course to play. I think the course would challenge a lot of golfers in a wide range of skill levels. It was a little drive to get to the course but it was well worth it. I’m going to recommend this course to everyone who wants to come to Florida to play.

Green were wet in the morning. Most courses mow or brush off water
The Greens were slow and very bumpy.. several of the greens had bear spots

While we do have a great layout, we recognize that the current course conditions — especially the greens — have not been up to the standards we aim for. Recent weather has significantly impacted our maintenance schedule, and we know that aeration recovery and animal damage on certain tee boxes have made things even more challenging.
