South Golf Course at Granite Falls Golf Club

The course is not in playable condition. The greens are too hard and too fast to play. This is due to a 2021 reseeding of the greens. Unfortunately they are going to do this to their other three courses also.

The approaches are almost muddy so there is no way to bump a shot and anything on the green will not hold. They don't over-seed the rough anymore so you either have a hardpan shot from dirt (or mud) or a muddy chip shot around the greens. Save your money and don't play this course until 2023.

I had been wanting to play the South Course at Granite Falls for some time since I loved the North Course when I first played it a few years ago. I love the layout of the South Course and the greens were very fast, which I prefer. However, they were rock hard...like concrete. After much rain the previous day, I was not expecting that. Any shots I landed on the green ran off the back. Trying to land short and run on did not work because the fairways were soft from the rain. I was told the greens are still pretty new so hopefully they will soften up some. Again, other than the excessive firmness of the greens, love the course!

The course has been improved recently. The fairways and tee boxes are a lush dark green. I understand that the greens have been redone on some holes. I think they need some time to mature as the greens were very hard packed. The apron around the green was usually very soft, but the greens were very hard. If you landed on the apron the ball would stop suddenly leaving a deep ball mark. If you landed on the green, the ball tended to roll all the way to the back no matter where on the green you landed and no ball mark. Putting was difficult as the greens were extraordinarily fast and did not hold a line very well at all. Once the greens grow and mature a bit more the course will be perfect.

Not overly penal like many desert courses, but still makes you think a bit. Always worth the drive.

All the other courses in area r in overseeding. 279 rounds on the tee sheet today. Pace was just under 4 hrs. Not bad. Tee to green fine. Greens okay for the most part. A couple were a bit "fuzzy." Still fine.

Grandview is a great course that is in very good condition for summer in AZ. All of the Sun City Grand courses I have played have been in very good condition. You wont find a better course for the money.

First time playing this course and was thoroughly impressed with condition of play through the day. Tee boxes were lush, fairways generous but”challenging “ and the greens were fast and yet fair for this time of year was exceptional and I will certainly look to play here again.Had a great day, thanks......

This course is in great shape for the summer season.Allthe courses in the community are in fantastic shape, hard to find better.

Greens are getting nice as they sanded & airified them about a month ago. Greens are soft and somewhat smooth. Fairways have some dry spots but are very nice. Traps are ok, nothing to complain about. I'll be back, it's a must play course.

Excellent, first class and friendly staff. Pretty course, nice layout, challenging enough but also forgiving. Conditions are understandable since course is closing shortly for summer maintenance. Recommended and will play it again.

This was my first time playing the South course. Played the North course two weeks in a row and thought I’d try something different. They have not aerated the course yet so the fairways are great and the greens bite and hold the ball well. Will be playing this again on Friday.

The course had recently been aerated and was being heavily irrigated during our play so there were some very messy areas. Nonetheless Granite Falls South is a beautiful golf course and a fun challenge for us intermediate players.

Some dry spots on the fairways, greens where bumpy and somewhat slow but not bad. Sandtraps need attention as they are hit and miss on good condition.

Other courses have already punched their greens but not here. They’re really nice. Great folks and $1.75 beer!!!
