Cimarron Golf Club

As an avid golfee who has played numerous great courses and also worked at courses as a pin setter. I would highly reccomend that the hole locations be given more thought. As a rule of thumb you cannot have every hole be on the top ofa hill, a mound, a slope, 6 feet from the edge of the green. You have to utilize the whole green for placement. If there are too many "zones" for placement, decrease the number of zones per green. To 4 or even 3. Gives the pinsetter more options. Not only do you lose customers from the difficult placements, but you also slow down pacw of play. You want to make the course fun yet challenging for all levels of golfers, not just scratch golfers. I am an excellent putter but even I had a hard time on the greens, having 30 putts yesterday. I would be willing to offer my services to set pins for one week and see if the customers would be happier with their rounds. The saying putt for dough doesn't apply here because there is no way to get close to some pins and make putts. Otherwise the course is absolutely beautiful and well manicured.

One of the best layouts of all the Sun City Grand courses. From tee to green it's in awesome shape. Fairways are nice and lush, and greens are receptive, fast and rolling true. Customer service was awesome. For 21 with a drink and hotdog it's hands down a great value.

I read the reviews prior to playing this course, i should have taken them serious, we like the course but the guy setting the pin placements has no business working at a golf course setting the pins, we have played there twice and heard the same thing from both groups we played with, they wouldnt come back because of the pin placements and im not sure my wife and i would go back either, we golf 3-4 times a week and are both high 70s-low 80s golfers and never seen pin placements like this, you can be 10 feet from the flag in regulation and still 3-4 putt, lets hope the course allows someone a little more familiar with golf set the pins, a par 4 should be a par 4... most pins are right on the top of a ridge, on a steep slope and/or a few paces from a 8 foot drop off, Phil Mickelson couldnt make the shot

The course was in great shape. Fu to play. Greens are smooth and fast.

The golf course was very well maintained, the grass was cut even throughout the fairways and the rough. The only problem we had was with one member of the ground crew who would not get off of the green so you could approach or putt.

This was a great golfing day. The fairways are lush and manicured for the pros. The greens were challenging as they were undulating and somewhat quick.

The layout is fantastic and makes you want to play your best. Great staff in the pro shop, food snake bar, and the starter was friendly.

Great warm-up ares for chipping, putting, sand-shot making, and of course the driving range.

My golf partners and I will be back soon.

Especially fun if you select the appropriate tees. Fairways were in great shape. Greens were in good shape also. There was no beverage cart but snack bar was open still the turn. I will play again.

My wife and I played Cimarron on Friday, 5/23 and had a great time. We were paired with another couple who lived in Sun City Grand. What a nice couple!!! We loved the course and the condition it was in especially given the time of year. Overall, it was a wonderful time!!

Staff very friendly in informative. Tee boxes, fairways and greens the best I have play this year. Also their rates now drop at 11am. What a course and what a price.

First time here. Course in good condition considering the heat lately! LOTS of terrain undulations made for a challenging round.

I have played most of the Surprise AZ courses some time ago but had never played Cimarron. Saw a good deal and decided it was time. Very glad i did-fun course with just enough challenges to keep one interested. low handicappers need play the tips. Greens were very good with both subtle and obvious breaks. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I will return

Great layout, great conditions, great look. One time and it has become one of my favorites courses. I cannot say enough good things about this course.

I found the Staff the be very friendly, and helpful. Course was in great condition, green were somewhat fast which I like, and ball break followed the read. Overall the course presented a good challenge to keep the game interesting. I would highly recommend this course for play to anyone. All in all I had a real fun day on a first 100 degree day in the valley.

Enjoyed the course but whoever set their pins today must have been in a bad mood. There were numerous placements just a foot out two from the steep slopes that this course has on many greens. Aside from that it was a very pleasant day of golf. Layout is fair and pretty much right in front of you at all times. Some water hazards are a bit hidden but if you pay attention at the tee box you should not have any issues.

This course is wide open. Wide fairways and big greens. The greens roll good, not to fast. Every green has a low and elevated section on them. Fairways, tee boxes , and greens are all in good shape. The staff is very friendly and are out on the course to make sure things are moving along which I like. There are may local residents members here that call the course there own, they are very proud of this course and the three other courses in the community. The cool thing about that is they have made all items on the beverage cart cheap and affordable. Water was $1 and the beers were $2.50, cant beat that. Nice range but balls are not included. Nice practice putting green as well. We had a great day and I would play again.

Great course and always in great condition. If you are not 99 years old you are not really welcome. We ALWAYS get treated like scrubs when playing there! Close to the house and great value so I always go back.

A fun course, it will play as long as you like up to 6800.
