MountainView Country Club
About
MountainView Golf Club at Saddlebrooke sits at an elevation of 3,200 feet, offering both dramatic elevation changes and spectacular views. The course sits at the base of the Catalina Mountain range near Tucson, nestled into the mesquite-covered foothills. Gary Panks, the golf course's designer, saw the potential of the landscape and utilized the many natural hazards. He also incorporated subtle mounding and strategically placed bunkers that blend seamlessly into the natural terrain. Panks created a fair challenge with this layout but the wide, player-friendly landing areas makes the golf course approachable for beginners. The second hole is one of the most scenic holes on the course but it is also one of the layout's more difficult holes. Golfers will find a mesquite-filled wash crossing the fairway before facing an uphill shot to a green guarded by trees and bunkers.

Player Friendly Layout
Hadn't played here in a few years. Golf course is well kept and 'player friendly'.
Thoroughly enjoyed our day.
Great mountain views.
Mountainview is a nice course with enough tee boxes for all levels of golfer.
Sand traps don't drain well and the sand was really hard packed.
Greens are really fast downhill and some pin positions were poorly selected.
I enjoyed the course and the views and will return in the future.
I agree with other reviewers that the cart seats are too slippery.
Don"t Walk This Course
I found this to be an excellent course. I hadn't played it in many years. There are some long hilly distances between holes, making a golf car essential in getting from one hole to the next and maintaining pace of play. I also found a lack of visible yardage markers. Outside of that, it was delightful.
Great course with good view of mountains
It was nice playing at this course. What I would like to mention is that it shouldn't cost more for spectator than a round of golf!
Fun to play
Played the purple tees which provided plenty of landing space in the fairways. The greens were fast but smooth and provided plenty of challenge. It is now one of my favorite courses.
Golf Living
This was my first play at this club. The experience could not have been better. It started with a warm welcome from the pro shop including full explanation of the facilities and course rules. This was helpful and made me feel that the membership was welcome to visitors and wished everyone to enjoy the life that they lived on a daily basis.
I was paired with a local threesome. Again, they were welcoming and inclusive. Play was uninterupted by delays while marshals monitored pace. The course was well laid out, chalenging and in great shape. The only criticism was that the greens were extremely fast. I measure every put on every course. This course will cause golfer to lose confidence quickly when your "gimme" put rolls by eight foot. It will take some play to adjust to the speed of these greens.
After your round, the clubhouse offers a full restuarant and bar with food availability. Beautiful and spacious! Obviously I enjoyed myself here and could recommend this Country Club to all.
Thank you Mountain View Country Club!!
You showed me how great it is to live the Saddlebrook lifestyle.
Carts and Greens
Way to much Armor-All used on the cart seats and steering wheels. Slide all the way across the cart seat when turning corners.
Greens won't hold and the apron stops the ball so can't run the ball up onto the green. One or the other would make it a more fair and enjoyable experience.
Mtnvw
In great shape. Fun course to play. It was a little slow today but likely due to frost delay.
Scenic & Fun Course!
I always enjoy playing this course. It was in excellent condition! Pace of play was very fast on this particular day. The scenery is absolutely phenomenal. 19th Hole is OUTSTANDING!!!
Moderate and forgiving
Have played this course a lot! I am not a long hitter so this course gives me the opportunity for pars on par 5 from the women's tee. Love to play it.
good value
good scenery, weather, and course conditions
Hard round
Tough to play this course when carts must stay on cart path. Recommend waiting until this restriction lifted to play. Greens were in very nice condition.
Don't get thirsty
The golf was great. At a club we're nearly everyone is a paying member, you'll always run into friendly members and the few who strive to be the grouchiest. But the course difficulty, condition, and pace of play made it a fun day on the course.
The most lacking amenity is the food and drink service. There isn't one for the golfers, and the employees in the bistro at the clubhouse could barely manage to get us some water after the front nine. Maybe they were newly untrained staff or maybe nobody drinks cocktails or beers on the course and the mere idea sent caused confusion but the lack of knowledge regarding beverage service was alarming.
After the round, the service in the bistro was less than stellar. I'll be sure to bring an ice chest and pack a lunch next time.
Playable course with great mountain scenery
Having played her before, I knew what to expect. The course is in nice condition in later October with the greens a bit slow. Cart path only as the overseed grows in but that is the case with many Arizona courses this time of year. Recommend playing her at least once if you are in the area. Whenever I play at the Saddlebrook courses, the vibe from the pro shop personnel is always one of "We know you booked on golfnow and while we are taking your money, we really do not want the general public here". Both Moountainview and Preserve are well worth the golf experience, do not expect to be greeted by a smiling face in the proshop. As a member of two private clubs and having played many of the premier clubs across the country, I understand the importance of a cordial proshop staff.
Great golf
Golf course is in great shape. After reseeding the grass is coming in beautiful. Only problem is I am disabled and I asked for a disabled flag and was told by staff it wouldn't matter as the course was cart path only. Right angle to cart path should have been okay but not for the staff. POOR judgement for disabled vet!
Mountain view golf club
This is a little bit of a drive but well worth. This is my favorite course to practice on. Great course for begginers since the fairways are pretty wide open. Greens were in really good shape.
Mowing laziness
Piles of grass clippings everywhere
mountain view
A little bit of a drive from south Tucson, but a nice day. Not many people on the course due to heat but course was in pretty good shape. Was told by a worker they lost their greens 2 years ago. Well they came back pretty nice. Unfortunately that meant they have to keep them up to protect them so the speed was SLOW . I'm from NE Pa . and wasn't used to these conditions so scoring was tough. But I understand & accepted it.
They course is set in what appears to be a retirement community , so we were the youngest people on course. If you live nearby not a bad place to take your wife golfing . Summer rates are fair if you can handle the temperature.
nice course
Only problem I had was there was no covers for the drinks that I purchased when I put them into the cups . When I went to go play the liquid splashed all over the cart and my self . Just a little thing that needs to change.
