About
MountainView Golf Club at Saddlebrooke sits at an elevation of 3,200 feet, offering both dramatic elevation changes and spectacular views. The course sits at the base of the Catalina Mountain range near Tucson, nestled into the mesquite-covered foothills. Gary Panks, the golf course's designer, saw the potential of the landscape and utilized the many natural hazards. He also incorporated subtle mounding and strategically placed bunkers that blend seamlessly into the natural terrain. Panks created a fair challenge with this layout but the wide, player-friendly landing areas makes the golf course approachable for beginners. The second hole is one of the most scenic holes on the course but it is also one of the layout's more difficult holes. Golfers will find a mesquite-filled wash crossing the fairway before facing an uphill shot to a green guarded by trees and bunkers.

Moderate and forgiving
Have played this course a lot! I am not a long hitter so this course gives me the opportunity for pars on par 5 from the women's tee. Love to play it.
good value
good scenery, weather, and course conditions
Hard round
Tough to play this course when carts must stay on cart path. Recommend waiting until this restriction lifted to play. Greens were in very nice condition.
Don't get thirsty
The golf was great. At a club we're nearly everyone is a paying member, you'll always run into friendly members and the few who strive to be the grouchiest. But the course difficulty, condition, and pace of play made it a fun day on the course.
The most lacking amenity is the food and drink service. There isn't one for the golfers, and the employees in the bistro at the clubhouse could barely manage to get us some water after the front nine. Maybe they were newly untrained staff or maybe nobody drinks cocktails or beers on the course and the mere idea sent caused confusion but the lack of knowledge regarding beverage service was alarming.
After the round, the service in the bistro was less than stellar. I'll be sure to bring an ice chest and pack a lunch next time.
Playable course with great mountain scenery
Having played her before, I knew what to expect. The course is in nice condition in later October with the greens a bit slow. Cart path only as the overseed grows in but that is the case with many Arizona courses this time of year. Recommend playing her at least once if you are in the area. Whenever I play at the Saddlebrook courses, the vibe from the pro shop personnel is always one of "We know you booked on golfnow and while we are taking your money, we really do not want the general public here". Both Moountainview and Preserve are well worth the golf experience, do not expect to be greeted by a smiling face in the proshop. As a member of two private clubs and having played many of the premier clubs across the country, I understand the importance of a cordial proshop staff.
Great golf
Golf course is in great shape. After reseeding the grass is coming in beautiful. Only problem is I am disabled and I asked for a disabled flag and was told by staff it wouldn't matter as the course was cart path only. Right angle to cart path should have been okay but not for the staff. POOR judgement for disabled vet!
Mountain view golf club
This is a little bit of a drive but well worth. This is my favorite course to practice on. Great course for begginers since the fairways are pretty wide open. Greens were in really good shape.
Mowing laziness
Piles of grass clippings everywhere
mountain view
A little bit of a drive from south Tucson, but a nice day. Not many people on the course due to heat but course was in pretty good shape. Was told by a worker they lost their greens 2 years ago. Well they came back pretty nice. Unfortunately that meant they have to keep them up to protect them so the speed was SLOW . I'm from NE Pa . and wasn't used to these conditions so scoring was tough. But I understand & accepted it.
They course is set in what appears to be a retirement community , so we were the youngest people on course. If you live nearby not a bad place to take your wife golfing . Summer rates are fair if you can handle the temperature.
nice course
Only problem I had was there was no covers for the drinks that I purchased when I put them into the cups . When I went to go play the liquid splashed all over the cart and my self . Just a little thing that needs to change.
missing article
we were last group on course. Turned cart in to the cart tender and talked to him briefly regarding course.
He told me there was a recent fire and a number of carts were involved. Brief chat of about 1 minute.
When I arrived home, I realized I didnt have my golf shoe bag. I left it in the basket behind the cart seat. I called the pro shop the morning after this incident to ask if the my shoe bag had been found by the cart tender. The pro shop talked to the cart render and was told there were no shoes found from last evening. I find this response ludicrous since the previous days cart tender HAD TO SEE MY BAG in the basket.
Not pleased with the response. Sound like someone liked my shoes and bag. They didnt offer to check the cart receipt with the number on it. Mysterious. First time I have forgotten something at a golf course and not gotten it back.
Surprising Quality Course
I was surprised at the overall quality and play of this course being one of the older ones in Saddlebrooke. Beautiful setting against the mountains, it carves in and out of rolling terrain with a natural setting. Many quality holes with interesting features off the tee or around the green. Not overly long but fair with premium on accuracy, so it's possible to score well here. A few barren spots in the fairways, but overall good conditions and excellent rolling greens. We had the course to ourselves on a Saturday afternoon other then the 40+ mule deer we saw enjoying the Arizona sun. Staff was friendly, carts were in good shape, and the cost was well below the value of this course.
Good day at Mountainview
With all the rain that we had, the course is in great shape. Played in less than 4 hours and scored well. A great day. Thank you. Doug
Muggy but cool playing
Always cool to play when virtually no one on course when start at 10:00. Recent rain wiped out most of bunker fortunately only in bunker once. Fairways and greens good conditions. Not a long course, using three wood and hybird off many holes.
Perfect Playable Pleasant
>Well maintained property
>Nice variety of tees
>Distinct yet subtle challenging greens
>You will use most of your clubs
>Offers nice risk reward opportunities
Great time
The course was great. Pace of play excellent.
Good course for the money
Gorgeous scenery, good layout, disappointed in that bunkers are not drained/raked after a rainfall (like other Saddlebrooke courses). Overall a good experience and still a local favorite!
A Poor Experience
The fairways were in poor condition with many bare spots. The sand traps were not maintained with rock hard sand in the traps. However, the putting greens were in good shape. Too bad the rest of the course was poorly maintained which resulted in my poor golfing experience at this course!!
slow at first
We were called on time to start but, the group in front of us was extremely slow. They would spend as much as 8-10 minutes looking for a ball. This went on for about 6 holes before we just went around them and skipped a hole to pick up our pace. It was 109 degrees and sitting still was not one of our options. No marshal to keep things going.
