Great course for the recreational golfer
Well maintained course. Very fair. Greens are in excellent condition. Greens are challenging.
SAN Gorgonio
Nice course with some challenging par 4s. Fair bit of water. Unfortunately it was over 100 degrees that day. More drinking water places needed on the course
Excellent
Booked this tee time through GolfNow after reading some of the reviews posted by others. The course was in excellent shape, fairways and greens both firm and fast. Nice layout, picturesque at times and friendly to all playing levels. My husband and I are both single digit handicappers and it was nice to see a length that fit all levels of play. We’d definitely play it again
Great Course
The course was in great shape and beautiful manicured fairways. Greens rolled pretty true. Weather was fantastic.
San Gorgonio
Rode the Blacks (6669/71.9/128) with John, Jim and Peggy in 4H early morning using UP. The weather was clear, calm and in the low 80's when we finished just before noon.
Generous landing areas and a reasonable difficulty factor would make this course a good choice for players of all skill levels. Some forced carries and water comes into play on many holes, but not for the more forward tees. Would be a difficult course to walk, many tees are a long way from the last green. No GPS on the basic carts.
The tees were lush and very well maintained.
The fairways are lush and were being slice cut today, which affected their playability short-term.
The rough is super lush and punitive. Thick and deep enough to make the ball sit down.
The sand traps were nicely maintained with thick, good quality sand.
The large greens putted nice, medium speed and are firm.
The customer service was excellent from everyone encountered. No drink cart today. Reasonably priced restaurant onsite that was super busy. No driving range, you have to go 1/2 mile down the street where the sister Santa Rosa course has a nice, all grass driving range. Definitely recommended.
ocean-wide fairways.......well-maintained, beautiful mountain scenery
Good golfing on a beautiful day, accented by the natural mountain surroundings
San Gorgonio
Rode the Blacks (6669/71.9/128) with John, Donna and their adult grandscon Nate in 4.5H twilight using UP. The weather was clear, breezy and in the low 70's when we finished around 5pm.
The course is in super condition. Billy Casper designed Par 35-37=72 layout with five par 5's and five par 3's. The front is stacked with par 3's, 4 of your first 8 holes are par 3's. The back 9 averages almost 420 per hole from the Blacks, it plays long.
The tees were lush and well maintained. The Black tees had so few divots they almost looked like artificial turf.
The fairways are lush and very nice to play from.
The rough is super lush and punitive. Thick and just deep enough to make the ball sit down.
The sand traps were nicely maintained with good quality sand. They are thick enough to produce several "fried eggs" in our group.
The large greens putted nice, medium fast speed and firm.

Would be a difficult course to walk, many tees are a long way from the last green. No GPS on the basic carts. The customer service was good from everyone encountered. No drink cart today. Had lunch between rounds, good selection and reasonably priced restaurant. No driving range, you have to go 1/2 mile down the street where the sister Santa Rosa course has a nice, all grass driving range. Definitely recommended.
Nice Course
After having one of the worst experiences of the season at Shadow Mountain, Mountain Vista was a delight.
Beautiful course and in great condition. The only reason I did not give this course 5 stars was the pace of play was rather slow.
Will return to this one.
Shot Gun Start
Was. Not advised by Golf Now this was a Shot Gun at the time of booking
It was fun
Shotgun Start?
Played San Gorgonio a few times in the past but when I checked in for my 11:00 tee time I was informed it was a shotgun start. It worked out but unusual. Cart died on the back nine and had to be rescued. No beverages or food was disappointing.
Pleased
As wet as it has been in the recent days the course was in excellent condition The fairways were good as were the greens. Hats off to Jeff in the pro shop. Very friendly and welcoming.
Would recommend this course for any player regardless of handicap, it offers a test for all.
nice round
Greens are as good as they get. Very very difficult to read with lots of undulation. But in fantastic shape. A pleasure to play on them.
Tough greens
This was our first time playing this course. We had read on Golf Now that if you want to use the driving range you need too go to the other course at Sun City first. We did that but it was really somewhat of a pain. We waited hoping someone would give us a cart but it appeared nobody was working the bag drop so we schlepped our clubs to the range. We had to buy 2 buckets of balls ($4/small bucket) and we warmed up. Then we had to carry our bags all the way back to the car and drive to the course we were playing. It seemed to be a bit of a mad house with dozens of people and a long line to check in. Turned out we were in a shotgun start where everyone would tee off at 1 pm from different holes. We teed off on 2 with a couple of very nice guys. The group directly in front was somewhat slow, but we were happy to finish the round in 4.5 hours (before dark - yay!). The biggest frustration was the speed of the greens. It seemed nearly impossible to hold the green with a shot from the fairway. Definitely a challenge; but overall the course was in good shape and we enjoyed out round.
Good track, worth the deal
Good track, great shape, could use some hard liquor on the beer cart!
Very nice course especially the greens with undulations.
Fairways are wide and well maintained. Just enough hazards to deal with but otherwise reasonable lay out. Did not lose any ball and shot within my 14 handicap- not bad for first time playing this course.
Visitor
Very freindly staff and informative.
The pace of play was a little slow but overall it was a great experience.
The greens were very nice and the fairways in excellent condition.
Would recomend to anyone
New Year’s eve round
