Mountain Vista Golf Club - San Gorgonio Course

Greens were undulating and challenging and course in great shape. I would play it again.

I thought I would try this sister course to Mountain Vista Santa Rosa, which I've played before and really like. San Gorgonio was fine, but cannot compare with Santa Rosa. Nothing really stood out, the greens were really tricky, and none of us were thrilled with so many par 3s -- I think four or five on the front 9 alone. It was also strange to not be able to get ice from the water dispenser at the start of the round because it is reserved "for residents only," and I really wished there would have been a beverage cart. I doubt I'll play this one again. Too many better choices out there.

We enjoyed a solid round of golf on a beautiful day. The course is somewhat funky, since it has 5 par 3's on the front, with two par 5's. The back has three par 5's, with a string of par 4's. My wife thought the forward tee boxes were quite fair, although I thought the pin placements were difficult and the greens hard to putt (subtle breaks). This was our first time on this course. The rough was somewhat choppy, unlike its sister course, Santa Rosa.

Love this course . All holes have their own unique challenge. Will definitely play this course again...

I enjoy this course, but didn't play to my capability. Course requires your full attention, especially on the greens. Course set-up was excellent and the greens speed very fair. I want another shot at this course. You'll enjoy it and the beautiful surroundings.

I was hopping for the best. They didn’t have any cart girl, I called the pro shop and they said no food or drink at all. Fairways and greens were good but 10 min. Wait every hole is not great. Never come back.

Second time this season I had the opportunity to play this course! Allot of dead grass in the rough on most holes! While passing another clubhouse at hole 9/10 (not the one you start at) I passed some beautiful waterfalls but the sewer smell was not so great while going by! Water needs treatment! Other than that the course helped me do some Handicap Maintenance!

It is a beautiful course loved playing it, will go back

Some fairways generous.

Many greens crowned, leaving long pitches to reach putting surface. Lots of other roubles around the very undulated greens.

Tough layout.

Super fast greens and great layout! One of my favorite in the Palm Desert area.

This course is so unfair. The greens are impossible to putt, and they don’t hold a chip shot.

I will never play this course again. The play was slow, because the greens were absolutely ridiculous.

Beware: on many days, the 1:00 tee time is a shotgun start which is a bit odd. They load up the course with 1 or 2 groups on each tee. There really needs to be a notification about this on GolfNow website at time of booking,,

The pre-start process is pretty chaotic, or maybe just hard for an “outsider” to understand (staff make it very clear that this course is mainly for community residents; definitely made us feel like an outsider). Lots of folks buzzing around in their personal golf carts, etc.

Course conditions were good.

Pace of play was ok for first 9 holes but slowed down markedly on second 9.

No driving range on site to warm up. Practice green was loaded with other players (shotgun start) making it hard to even practice putting.

Good layout, use every club in you bag from the tips.

Always a great course. Price is a little steep for a 2:06 tee time in a foursome trying to finish before dark. As a twosome we probably could have finished.

I was very impressed with this course. Not the most challenging, but still a very fun layout. Tee boxes, fair ways and greens were all in prime condition. We had a shot gun start at 1:00pm and never ran into another golfer the entire day.

Very nice course in great condition. Good pace of play. Bit of an odd layout...at 6200 yds, short holes (2700yds) front nine, 3500 yds back nine. All in all, an enjoyable day at a very nice course
