About
Orangebrook Country Club in Hollywood boasts two 18-hole courses, the East and the West. The golf courses are about equal in difficulty but each offers a different set of challenges. The West Course was added over 20 years after the original East Course, which was built in the 1930s. This newer layout has more water hazards and there are also several massive bunkers treacherously lurking about the greensides. The challenging elements are nicely balanced by wide-open, player-friendly fairways and small greens with few breaks. The golf course is overall very forgiving but it offers interesting risk-reward opportunities that will appeal to players of all skill levels. In addition to the two golf courses, Orangebrook C.C. boasts extensive practice facilities that include a spacious lighted driving range with distance markers and a practice bunker.

The starter is very friendly, it’s always funny to play there
The west Golf is nice but there are few greens who are very rought. Bunkers needs more sand . We got a hot dog, soft drink and a chips for free! Thanks !

Wow, when West is improved as East has
I thought West was improving nicely until I played East, holy crap, when West is improved equally as nice as East I won't mind paying more to play either course. Your greens keeper should School the greens keeper at Hollywood Beach course.
Major kudos to your intire maintenance crew.
That said, your starter/bagtender/cart maintainer should receive a major pay increase for his unwavered dedication to your organization.

Time to Tear Down and Start Over
Every other year I book a round at the golf course 3 miles from my house at the City of Hollywood’s Orangebrook Golf Course. I am always disappointed. It’s like everyone at the course had accepted it’s a run down, poorly managed venue and always look like they wish they were somewhere else. Depressing would be your first description. The clubhouse and restaurant look so run down and each entrance has a fire warning from the city’s Fire Department. Not encouraging. The sign acknowledges this place is a fire trap and you are on your own. The course is the perfect example of paying low dollar for its employees. Lot’s of uncut grass, weeds, bare spots in greens, no water on the 36 hole property and bunkers unplayable. Shame is it’s a good layout. But for over thirty years it’s been a course of last resort. But the Canadian winter visitors keep it alive. Probably blame should be on The City of Hollywood for never bringing in a reputable group to manage and low balling the investment. But we golfers suffer the brunt. I drive 20 minutes to play and practice at Pembroke Lakes instead of three minutes to Orangebrook. Kind of sums it all up. But it does look appealing as you drive by it on I-95…….
The one thing I agree on is that their employees are not paid enough don't know how they get away with paying them less than minimum wage and besides rocks being in the traps the course is making a comeback so go ahead and drive to Pembroke and pay $75 I won't

Course has been consistently bad for the past 10 years. Tried to give it another try. Starter was the grumpiest and most disgruntled old man I have ever met and has nothing positive to say at all. Clubhouse and amenities are dated. 1 restroom on course and was closed down. Cart girl only accepted cash or venmo to her personal account. Greens are hit and miss, with many of the initial greens with weeds. Hacks are littered throughout the course and you may as well wear a construction helmet to protect yourself. The pace of play was also ridiculously slow and could have drove to tpc sawgrass in the same amount of time it took to play.

Management team needed
We arrived 50mins before our tee time thinking we would be able to hit a bucket at the range. I Was told that day was maintenance day & the range wasn't open. It may be open in 30min or an hour. So we decided to use that extra 54mins to get a bite to eat before our round.. We walked into the restaurant & was intercepted by an employee who told was the restaurant was not yet open because the chef has showed up yet. Then the pace of play was worst ever. Also on #7 I called to order food but realized we were about as far from the clubhouse as we could be. Only 1 & 18 are at the clubhouse. But when I called to order the lady I spoke with said that she's worked there about a year & didn't know if #9 was near the restaurant. She had no idea. Clearly the place has potential but terribly needs a new management team to get it on track.
