About
Orangebrook Country Club in Hollywood boasts two 18-hole courses, the East and the West. The golf courses are about equal in difficulty but each offers a different set of challenges. The West Course was added over 20 years after the original East Course, which was built in the 1930s. This newer layout has more water hazards and there are also several massive bunkers treacherously lurking about the greensides. The challenging elements are nicely balanced by wide-open, player-friendly fairways and small greens with few breaks. The golf course is overall very forgiving but it offers interesting risk-reward opportunities that will appeal to players of all skill levels. In addition to the two golf courses, Orangebrook C.C. boasts extensive practice facilities that include a spacious lighted driving range with distance markers and a practice bunker.

Still one of my go to places.
I enjoy playing Orangebrook East side, unfortunately when they close the front nine, too many people start jumping around and causes a few back ups. The greens and fairways are in good shape heading into season. The staff is always friendly.

I assume because the east closed the west was a little crowded so it was slow.

Take a Pass
We booked Orangebrook West online and paid online. When we arrived at Orangebrook, we were told the west course was closed and that we could only play the east course. The course was a swamp. Even though it hadn’t rained in days, the grounds were wet. We were very disappointed that we booked one thing, and got another.

Have the grounds crew given up?
My guess is, that employees do not receive at the very least an annual cost of living pay increase.
Both courses being entirely taken over by weeds, turf disappearing at an alarming rate.
Not too shabby
First time trying this course. Aside from the greens being crappy, the rest of the course is quite nice. Can’t bear the free lunch with a round. Very playable !!

Course will be ready for the snowbirds
Not positive, but I think this is the second time this year they plugged the greens, we played the West which is in really nice shape high and dry after a week of rain, East is almost as nice but still needs to be raised somehow, so they don't have to close it after a heavy rain all the time. Tee boxes are kept long enough so they don't dry out and die from too many idiot divot makers. Fairways are surprisingly smaller but easier to keep the turf solid. Most of the greens are mostly turf, and for the most part, roll true. Even late in the afternoon the staff still gives you a smile and is very helpful, good people.

Need maintenance
We played and enjoyed the day overall. We had a lot of rain but kept playing. We found some fairway areas needing maintenance but is ok. Probably the most important to mention was the greens that not very well maintained with some dry areas and most with bad grass.

Orangebrook- Home course
I play twice a week at West and sometimes East. The staff is super friendly. The price is very reasonable and the course is forgiving. The fairways are in great shape. The greens are in good shape and have improved over the past two years, but still have a little work to do. I wish the flagsticks were colored red/white/blue to better determine yardage to the hole. The bunkers are frequently wet, packed and only 1/2" to 1" of soft sand. Sometimes the rough gets very tall and then when mowed, it's like a hay field. I think they need more greens' keepers.
All in all, it's a nice course and a great price.
