West at Orangebrook Country Club

About
Orangebrook Country Club in Hollywood boasts two 18-hole courses, the East and the West. The golf courses are about equal in difficulty but each offers a different set of challenges. The West Course was added over 20 years after the original East Course, which was built in the 1930s. This newer layout has more water hazards and there are also several massive bunkers treacherously lurking about the greensides. The challenging elements are nicely balanced by wide-open, player-friendly fairways and small greens with few breaks. The golf course is overall very forgiving but it offers interesting risk-reward opportunities that will appeal to players of all skill levels. In addition to the two golf courses, Orangebrook C.C. boasts extensive practice facilities that include a spacious lighted driving range with distance markers and a practice bunker.

Orangebrook West
The course was in decent shape, fairways and greens. Pace was acceptable. Lots of water birds and iguanas, which is a nice change for a northerner. Price was commensurate with quality. Level of difficulty was just about right for an older average golfer, which I am. I enjoyed the round.
Pleasant staff - pity about the clubhouse!
First 9 of the West course was fairly open with the more interesting holes on the back 9. Greens were on the slow side. The course was good value although their is no longer a driving range and the clubhouse is sadly one of the worst I have ever visited in any country - it needs either knocking down or complete refurbishment. The staff however were welcoming and very pleasant .
Great course for the money
I just played the west course . Several weeks ago I played the east. I'll double my review now as last time I stated that I enjoyed the course it has a great layout and although the course shows it's age in some areas it still has good greens and fairways the layout is challenging yet fair both courses have a simalar feel. The only down side it that it gets a lot of play and the rounds can be slow. Today's pace was very good
For about $50. 00 you get a good round of golf
Pretty fun course
Took advantage of twilight fees for much more affordable golf during brief stop in Fort Lauderdale. The course layout was pretty fun with several interesting holes where one needed to play good angles to stay out of lakes and trees. The starter was very kind, but the staff in the pro shop were surprisingly unfriendly.
Big surprise
This golf course is in better shape that I think
the green still slow but playable.
