Hollywood Beach Golf Club
About
Hollywood Beach Golf & Country Club offers a championship course where you can enjoy a private and secluded setting free of homes anywhere near the fairways, tees, or greens. Donald Ross originally designed the golf course in 1924. It has a classic layout that has withstood the test of time to become one of the area's most popular public courses. Seasoned golfers will find that the course is not the most challenging but it is good for a casual round that will still keep you on your toes. The course is tight, requiring a fair amount of accuracy. There are not many hazards but there are some and they are very strategically placed. The layout is player friendly enough to accommodate a range of skill levels and the affordable rates make Hollywood Beach Golf & Country Club doubly appealing.

The swamp
The title says it all, half the course was a swamp, the tee off from 6,7,8,9,10,11,15,17,18 jumping around the hole time trying. The greens rolled like a RC track put together by a 5 year old, up down bounce dirt fungus patches of weeds. The staff grade A, the price 15$ still an ok deal but if your an experienced golfer just wait till some of the modifications are done before going here. I will say it’s nearly impossible to loose a ball here so beginners go for it.
Not bad for after a hurricane
Could only play 9 twice due to the hurricane..I know the course pretty well..its not a bad course for 25-30 dollars...not really worth any more than that...
Terrible condition after Irma
Only 9 holes scattered. Horrible fairways and greens. Debris all over. They should not have opened!
Great Staff very friendly and professional. Great value for the money.
Uggghhhhh
I've been playing golf 40 plus years, from Florida to California. And i can say without hesitation this is by far the worst course I've ever played. The layout is so boring. Every hole is dead straight and completely flat (17 being the only exception-its a very slight dogleg left) And the greens are the slowest I've ever experienced. I would guess the green speed to be 6-7. About the same as shag carpeting. So why did I play there? I was alone, and for 20 bucks I figured it would be better than just hitting a couple of buckets. (btw-they don't have a driving range) If I hadn't have hooked up with another single, I would have left after 9. Now that Hillcrest has closed, there really isn't anywhere in Hollywood worth playing. Do yourself a favor and skip this goat farm. Take a short drive south and try Miami Shores instead. They have some of the best greens you will play on a public course. You will be glad you did.
Good Course
Plenty of fairway to hit. Water does come into play on a few holes. Starter was very friendly. I would play again. Great time!
A pleasant round
An enjoyable round of golf. Staff was extremely accommodating. Course in very good shape
Fun Course
Always love to play at Hollywood Beach. The flora and fauna are always a treat.
Spring Break Bust
Played this course while visiting the area on vacation. Very overrated. The course top dressed all of the greens with sand the morning we played and didn't brush them off until after we had finished our round. Therefore we had to putt through the sand the entire round. The greens looked nice, but couldn't really tell due to the sand. The course layout was nothing special. You're typical run-of-the-mill Florida munny layout. Not worth the price we paid to play the course. Would've been nice if the course gave us a price break due to the maintenance of the greens the morning we played. On a positive note, the pace of play was great. Our foursome finished the round in 3 hours.
Poor conditioning
This old Donald Ross track has never been in real good condition over past 5 years (at least), but it's particularly sad right now. Greens weedy and bumpy, fairways thin. Too bad, because it's an interesting layout.
Greens and fairways need help!
Although the staff was excellent the course conditions were not. Dry, sparse fairways lead to bumpy and sometimes weed ridden greens. Pace of play was ok but until the conditions improve, there is better value elsewhere.
Decent layout, good value.
I played this course on vacation during spring break. That it is a Donald Ross design made it more interesting. Layout is pretty straightforward. Very little water on the course, some meandering streams. Played from the white tees and there were some longer holes on the back nine that made it a challenge. Greens are mostly elevated and not that fast. If you are looking for a course to get the rust out, this is lot of value for the money. I teed off at 8am and the course was pretty quiet. The staff was very friendly...the starter gave me a yardage book since it was my first time. No driving range. They have a beverage cart and a food shack at the turn. I used a cart, but the course is very walkable though I don't know if that is an option. Didn't see any pullcarts.
