Hollywood Beach Golf & Country Club
About
Hollywood Beach Golf & Country Club offers a championship course where you can enjoy a private and secluded setting free of homes anywhere near the fairways, tees, or greens. Donald Ross originally designed the golf course in 1924. It has a classic layout that has withstood the test of time to become one of the area's most popular public courses. Seasoned golfers will find that the course is not the most challenging but it is good for a casual round that will still keep you on your toes. The course is tight, requiring a fair amount of accuracy. There are not many hazards but there are some and they are very strategically placed. The layout is player friendly enough to accommodate a range of skill levels and the affordable rates make Hollywood Beach Golf & Country Club doubly appealing.

Worth the money!
Overall definitely a good value. The course was tight but has some good scoring holes. The only issue was the greens were bumpy and I lost a few strokes.
Poor Management
Played here before and liked it. This time they book a 9:15am tee time and a tournament at the same time. I tried to complain to the staff and got the runaround each pointing to each other. Then the starter had us follow him to the 7th hole, in 25 years of playing never started on the 7th hole in a regular round. The GM was no where to be found. Was a bad experience the pace was fast, but a rude staff and course conditions made it sour.
What were they thinking???
My wife and I have played this course on numerous occasions,, and for the most part have had pleasant experiences here. We played here one week prior and the course was almost unplayable on holes 1-5 and 12-15. Why the course on 9.21 was even open due to saturation was beyond me.
My wife talked me into going back yesterday (9.28) and it was a huge mistake. The course was completely saturated,, and why management even had the course open was beyond me. On top of that there was a shower that hit right as we hit off of 1 tee,,, and conditions went from unplayable to laughable,,, I know they need revenue to generate through, but allowing full price on a course that was completely unplayable was an irresponsible and selfish decision.
If the course is dry,,, it's a nice track,, the rough is horribly penal for the most part,,, why they don't have a 1st cut of rough is a bit head-scratching,,, several holes with character and charm,,, a must play only when conditions are right
Goat Track
Donald Ross course. Fairways were under water due to rain. The course should have been closed. Super friendly staff however I came to play golf and the course was at best sub standard
Nice!
Who thinks of playing golf in Florida in the middle of August? While the heat index was at 110 degrees, the price and the condition of the ccourse made it worth while. Not to mention that the pace of play was incredibly fast but that's probably because most of the locals were laughing at us out-of-towners from a cool shade. Overall nice course, friendly staff and I would recommend to a friend.
Great course
It was a HOT day in South Florida. The course played great. The rough is a bit on the thick side so you will want to keep your shots right down the middle. A bit tight but the course looks great. It is kept nice.
Its the beach so there is water but it shouldn't come in to play much. You are more likely to lose your ball in the muck.
nice
Good condition, they always keep the course in good playing conditions
Really nice course
This is a really nice course but does hold water, so you not want to play right after any big rain days. Had a good time and staff was really nice.
Donald Ross lives on
Donald Ross lives on in this classic 1924 design. The facilities are worn and are in a need of a facelift. The greens are slow but the original green complexes are still intact. The fairways are tight and greens are small but it's very friendly as the course is short. The staff is fantastic and outgoing which makes this course worth the trip. We have played it twice now with an average 18 hole pace of play at 3 hours.
course needs water on greens
Some what disappointed in my round of golf course has been in better shape than what I have played. Green were brown , need to be water, even during the as players are playing for like 10 min. to stop this. the fairway are in good shape but out of the fairway, its real high, so for me to make it to the green I had to play it safe, Over all for the price its a good place to play a round of golf
Special
I cant believe I have never played this course before and frankly was unaware of it. This is a beautiful old world charm course right in the middle of Hollywood.
Layout is very challenging. Conditions yesterday were not perfect but only due to the extreme rain the course has been experienceing so fairways were lush but soft, no roll, and rough was very deep and losing balls was the menu for the day, but once things dry up a little, this is a gem of a course.
in the summer time18 holes on Tuesday and Thursday 20 bucks its a great deal
For the summer rates which are 20 bucks on Tuesday and Thursday you can't beat it..
Fun course
Had a great time
I go at least every other week
Good people lots of fun
My be there Sunday depending on the weather
Course is in good condition
Greens were recently punched so it was hard to read pace but within a few weeks they should be in good shape. Fairways and bunkers are well manicured and maintained. Only problem I had was the tee boxes were uneven giving me limited space to tee up. Other than that it was a great experience and I will for sure play there again!
Course is great!
This course is wonderful. The fairways are in great condition; however, the greens were punched the day we played. The course has some great challenging holes and par 3's that force you to be super accurate as well since there are water hazards. The staff is great and the course is very scenic with lots of birds, ducks and iguanas. The course is very very well maintained. It was beautiful to play this course and very much enjoyed our round.
This course if fun to play
Great place to play. I played with kids and they had a good time. Michael was impressed with my 9 year old. . Course fairways were in good condition with a few dried spots but did affect play time. We visited course from Chicago .
Carefull
Sorry for my english i'm french speaking. On the 3rd hole (par 3), i hit my ball to the right where there is a tree. My ball was à little behind the tree but i had a little punch shot to the green. There was mud but nothing to fear... When i got there, both legs went into the ground over the knee. Could not get out of there without the help of my friend pulling me out with my club and after grabbing à branch to pull me out. THE AREA SHOUD BE SECURE INFORMING GOLFERS NOT TO GO THERE. i hard to go back to clubhouse wash mysel with the hose use to wash golf cart. The starter told me that i wan't the first one as it did happens during the weekend to a lady.
Nice course, but no range
Very nice course but no range so that's a deal breaker for me.
A Mediocre track
While the friendliness of the staff was excellent, considering the time it took me to get there and the course conditions, I will not return to play this course. There are a significant number of golf courses in the Fort Lauderdale area that are way better than this one.
NOT worth the rates
Terrible Greens! Bumpy, covered in fungi, and generally poor. A few holes were in terrific condition, but mostly the greens were all over the place. Definitely NOT worth the price when compared to many other courses in the area. Skip this one and go somewhere else.
