Stoneybrook East Golf Course

Tee time 10:10 a.m. on a Sunday, $45 per person. The first red flag should have been how empty it was on such a nice morning. We played a 4-person scramble. I feel I could have made a better fairway in my backyard while doing the bare minimum for maintenance. The greens were also abysmal with dead patches everywhere. We still played on and made the best of it. Unfortunately, we ended up getting rained out on hole 16. As we returned to the clubhouse, it was a torrential downpour. I cut through the parking lot in the cart so I could put my clubs in the car in an attempt to keep everything from getting soaked. I had my girlfriend bring the cart to the covered area in front of the entrance to the clubhouse while I met her with the car. This is where she was verbally accosted by “the wife of the manager” because we had the cart in the parking lot. I understand they have a rule about carts in the lot, but considering the circumstances with the rain and how we were one of 6 cars in the lot, I figured they’d be understanding. So if you enjoy paying high prices for a sub-par course and being treated like dog water by the management’s family, then this is the course for you! If you, like most sane golfers, don’t want to deal with that and get the most of your money, then I’d highly recommend going to just about any other course in central Florida. If I could give half a star, I would. Will not be returning!

I have to say this time was much better than a month ago.the greens are a bit patchy but for my level of play, I don’t mind it. I can see this being an issue for a more skilled player. Overall, it was a good one, price was fair, the pace was good and the conditions were good too. No complaints.

Great time as always. Paired up with another team and had a great time!

Let me start with the positives. For the rate I paid, it was a great deal. The course is challenging and there are quite a few difficult holes. The pro shop has alot of good deals and the facility is in excellent shape. The driving range is fun as you are hitting into the water (I feel bad for the person having to retrieve them).

Things I didn’t like: you cannot take the cart to your car to pick up your clubs. That is the first time I have ever had to deal with that. The greens were in rough shape on several holes. Also there are several holes where you drive for a while before you get to the next hole. On a hot day, that was not the most fun. There was no drink cart on the course. Bring lots to drink out on the course.

I will definitely go back to this course. Knowing what I know now, I will be better prepared.

The course is in bad shape, some greens are terrible.

I hope they can improve the conditions of this course as I love playing here, last time I played it was last March and was in much better shape.

Had a great time during our recent 7 AM tee time. The course was nice, but had a few greens that need a little work. It would be nice to have a cart girl because it was hot as the morning went on. Overall, we had a great time.

I like the layout. Fairways were nice and a little tight for me but I like the challenge. Tees and greens were in really bad shape. Got stuck behind three guys playing slow and two guys playing a speed round.

No ranger to help with the speed of play. Overall I liked it and would play again, but there’s room for improvement.

I typically like Stoneybrook East, but this weekend was not the case. The back 9 was closed and I had no idea when I booked it, so we had to play the front 9 twice. The greens on the front 9 were not in very good shape. Lots of sand all over the greens and it was recently aerated. I won’t be back for awhile until they can turn things around.
