Legends Golf & Country Club
About
Legends Golf & Country Club offers an 18-hole championship course that has become one of the most popular golf courses in central Florida. The course features dramatic elevation changes, which allow golfers to take in breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and citrus groves. Legends Golf & Country Club is known for its par-3 holes, but one of the most memorable holes is the par-4 fifth hole. The hole is a downhill dogleg left with an elevated tee that provides a spectacular view. Legends Golf & Country Club has a classic, moderately difficult layout that is difficult if approached too casually but also quite playable, even from the championship tees.

Nice Course.
Legends is my go-to course since I live very close to it. It provides a nice challenge to all golf skill levels. They are doing some course refurbishments so not is best shape. They have a nice range albeit you are hitting from artificial surface and putting practice area. The staff is super friendly and amenities are OK. Cost is on par with similar courses in the area, but I would not say a huge value for money.
Nice day fun course
Nice course fun elevation changes. Well worth playing. Drove over an hour to meet some buddies in middle of the state and was not disappointed. A fair price to me for a premium tee time would be 55-60$
Fun Track. Average condition. A bit lacking in service
We've played this track for many years. Glad is has reopened!
Overall this outing was average. We got behind a shotgun start event that ended up making the round very slow.
Overall conditions were fair to average. The greens looked great, but were running slow for a FL summer round.
I feel the cart team could have been a bit more on point. The older gentleman did make the effort to come out and retrieve our clubs when we parked, but we declined simply as being so close to the cart area already. I still tip as he loaded them up on the cart and got us ready.
The checkin was smooth and easy.
The range was mattes only which I'm not a fan of due to my swing angle. I just does not respond the same as on course play, but many tracks are moving to this on the range, so I understand.
Pace of play was rough. A shotgun group in front of us really dragged the round out. Over 5hrs.
The Tees/Fairways were in average condition.
The beverage cart was on point and came around often. We appreciated it and did stock up on some drinks (both beers and waters). Great service and friendly.
I guess what got me was that when we got done, nobody made any effort to come out and clean up the clubs and take them to the drop. Had tip ready to go... But nobody to give it too. Saw a couple of younger guys sitting in the cart barn chatting, but not getting up to come assist. Maybe playing at Disney and some of the other nicer tracks @ central Florida have made me expect something more. I also know that MANY players don't want to deal with tipping after the round, so maybe it is the norm here.
Had a great time in the clubhouse bar afterwards enjoying a couple of beers and laughs.
Rough needs a mow
This course was fun, it has lot of elevation changes (for Florida). But we need to work on the rough. This course goes for nice cut fair way to 2-4in rough. Can we get a second cut and third cut. Other than that it was good.
Loved the elevations!
A really good layout. Challenging, made that more difficult by having longer rough. Greens were a little slow, but rolled true. A couple were a little sparse. Staff in all areas were superb. Will be back.
Legends
Only issue is the height of the rough along the fairways. You can easily lose a ball if it drifts a short distance from the fairway (5 yards for example). It slows down pace of play as players struggle to find their ball. On par 3 13th by the water tower my ball was short of the green by about 10 yards and three of us couldn’t find it. I’m not suggesting all the rough needs to be cut lower but areas between 200 to 250 yards from tees (where most balls land s/be cut lower so the balls can be spotted quickly.
Great day on the course
I hadn't played Legends(Clermont) for 10 months, but one of the draws for me is the very friendly staff.
Today the tee boxes were fine, if a little "fuzzy". Fairways were great, but I thought that the rough was a little long.
The greens had been punched last week, so they were still a bit bumpy, but playable.
I like the course layout. There are some elevation changes that add to the challenge!
Overall fun day!
Has great Potential
As a local I can say playing most courses in this area you can't beat Legends layout! Elevated tee boxes and undulating fairways make for great views from several holes! Having said that if you go off the fairway slightly you are likely to lose your ball! Such a shame about the rough being unkept like this as this is an easy fix that can really make a huge difference not only on the scorecard but ultimatey to your entire and overall experience. The course truly has amazing potential as the layout is great , fairways good and greens are improving! Superintendent please let's get the rough down to a reasonable height, We would love to make Legends part of our weekly round.
Legends' restoration was a success
We'd stopped playing at Legends before it's closing years back due to its bad condition. Yesterday we found a very good Hot Deal & decided to try Legends post-restoration. We were very pleasantly surprised & plan on going back. The staff, facilities, and course layout were the same as in years past - very very good. However, the condition of the course is also good now. Despite the extremely hot weather of late, the fairways were in nice shape. The greens had been aerated just a week or so ago, but they held lines and rolled out just fine. We were really happy to see Legends back in good shape since it's a really fun layout that challenges your game. I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 only because it's not a premiere course. However, I think you'll agree that it's a very good course at it's price point. Give it a try.
AMATEUR GOLFERS of ORLANDO MONTHLY TOURNAMENT
WE HAD A GROUP OF 67 PLAYERS IN OUR TOURNAMENT AND RECEIVED A DISCOUNTED RATE DUE TO THE COURSE DOING AN AERIGATION OF THE GREENS 6 DAYS PRIOR TO OUR EVENT. THE COURSE WAS IN GREAT SHAPE AND THE GREENS WERE ACTUALLY
IN A LOT BETTER SHAPE THAN I EXPECTED. WE HAD NO COMPLAINTS FROM OUR GROUP AT ALL. THEIR STAFF THERE IS GREAT, VERY HELPFUL AND PROFESSIONAL. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS VENUE TO ALL FOR A GREAT GOLF OUTING.
THANK YOU TO CHRIS, TRAVIS AND ALL OF YOUR STAFF.
Better than anticipated
We’ve played here before but that last time (few months ago) course was really in rough shape. Today, while it was recently aerated, the course was surprisingly in pretty good shape. Some areas definitely need cutting so if you don’t stay in the fairway finding your ball takes a while. But all in all definitely in good condition. Price made it even better!!
Going backwards…..
I’m thinking I wrote a review about a year or so ago, and was so happy this course was coming back from the dead several years ago. Conditions were much improved. Maintenance was appearing to be headed in the right direction. Even attention to detail was evident. At least for a course brought back from a not very pleasant past. About 3-4 courses in the area have gone through the same revitalization period. Everyone happy about it. Till now. Some of the recent reviews here and on other sites have commented and reacted to the same observations. It is the off season, and I understand that, but you’ve still got to put some effort, and more importantly money, into the daily upkeep of this place. Almost all of the revitalized courses around the central Florida area are. Putting money back into the course. If you were a well established track and decided to cut back a little (a little!) I’d understand as well. But this isn’t Legends.
Greens are still pretty good. And if that’s where their concentration stops then so be it. But the rest of this course is starting to suffer in the wrong direction.
You know what hole is kept up nice? The Par 3 out front by the entrance (15?). For obvious reasons. The best advertising they can do. But the other 17 holes leave a lot to be desired. Fairways. ROUGH. Tee boxes. Sand (?) Traps. All much worse than last year. As they say in the clubhouse…….its Legendary! But for the wrong reasons. I’m headed down the road a bit for my next round. Either direction. For courses that are improving. Shame.
Temple Terrace
The course was in excellent shape. The only exception was the lack of sand in the sand traps, but I’m assuming all the recent rain was the cause of that issue.
Generous fairways for a course in a subdivision.
Friendly cool elevation rough rough
Staff was every staff member we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful which is pretty hard to find now a days. Course is unique and really cool in the design and extreme elevation change. If you are not in the fairways it’s pretty much a hazard bc of the crab grass/ rough is so tall you can either not find your ball or have an extremely hard time hitting out of the thick tall grass. Fairways are narrow enough bc of close houses so w these off fairway conditions it’s an extremely tough course. Greens and tee boxes in great condition. Some really beautiful holes worth golfing once but may not return any time soon.
