St. Johns Golf & Country Club

Took a group of clients here and although is was a great day golfing it was no where near a great golf round.

The course was severely overbooked with 4 min starts and we were started 20 min after our tee time. Causing all day waits. To make it worse the ranger asked us several times what the hold up was at the tee box. As we had to explain there is a group on the fairway waiting for the group on the green. Hard to understand why he could not understand. Caused us to be an hour and a half behind pace for the day.

And then there are the greens. In my opinion they were not in great shape. Lots of fringe grasses patched all over in the green causing ball hop on every green. Making great puts turn into horrible puts.

Needless to say none of us will be back. Two people in our foursome had golfed tournaments here in the past and commented this was the worst they had ever seen this course.

This course was in great shape would highly recommend! Greens were very fast but very receptive and fair! Fairways were awesome! Hit the fairway and get a great roll.

Showed up at about 12:30 for a 1:10 tee time. Checked in at the pro shop, checked in with the starter. At 2:15 I left the course. Was never called to the tee box. I understand this is a very nice facility. I guess I was invisible.

I played a couple of rounds in the last years. The course still is good. The pace of play was too slow, we had to wait on nearly each hole. According to the GPS System iwe were 29 minutes late. There should be a Marshall to increase the flight ahead. Greens were not as good as years ago. The cars are excellent because of the modern GPS System. I will come back , because the course is challenging.

Great course with good online rate. Some greens were a little sketchy. No alligators seen, just this water moccasin on course!

Course was in excellent condition. Greens were fast and the rough was “rough “. Played as.a foursome and finished in under 4 hrs

Paired up with two regular visitors and we played of f the white tees. The course was moderately challenging and with at times a moderately strong breeze to add to the challenge. Greens were variable, possibly because of the different drying rates for elevation and wind. Bunkers were freshly raked with a good depth of sand. Pleased to have regular visits from thedrinks buggy.

Fairways were in excellent condition as well as the tees. However the greens are sub-standard. There is a lot of foreign grass in the greens, certainly not what we expected at St John’s Golf and Country Club. We definitely will not be playing there again in the near future.

Very challenging, but fair layout. Tees, fairways, and sand traps were all good. The greens rolled quick in the morning but they’ve been invaded by patches of a different kind of grass. Not sure how they will roll in the afternoon as I’m sure they grow at different rates. I felt $78 for this course on a weekday morning was a little high. I do not plan to play there again.

Worst pace of play we have encountered, three some ahead of us was extremely slow. 4 and half hours. to play. were were a foursome and we waited on every hole to hit.

Greens are a bit bumpy, they rolled ok.

Rest of course is 5 star

This course was once one of the best in the area.

The greens are in bad shape. It’s really a shame.

This course is always good. Greens were aireated in last two weeks but no mention of it before booking. Should have been a discount given their condition.

The course was an awesome value. Reasonable price, outstanding staff, beautiful conditions (even in the heat). Greens could have been a little better but they were much better than most public courses in the area.
