St. Johns Golf & Country Club
About
Carved from a forest of pines and winding through wetlands and lagoons, St. Johns Golf & Country Club offers a scenic 18-hole round located between St. Augustine and Jacksonville. The course features tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens. There is also the occasional two-tiered green to look out for. Water hazards come into play throughout and there are several well-placed bunkers. Depending on how the wind is blowing, the course can range from being gentle to very demanding. Six sets of tees make the course accessible to players of all skill levels. In addition to the course, St. Johns Golf & Country Club also offers extensive practice facilities including a 10,000 sq. foot putting green, chipping green, and a double-sided driving range.

Great experience
We thoroughly enjoyed the condition of the course, greens and the overall layout.
Steve
One of the better venues in the area.
Great course, staff & restaurant.
Decent layout, good shape, good value for area
I was visiting from out of area, and others had recommended this course as one to try. As a single , I was paired with 3 members. I enjoyed my round. Good layout though several holes looked similar. Some doglegs, but mostly the course is presented fairly. Plenty of water, but fairways are fairly generous.Greens were in reasonably good condition for a public course. Pace of play was excellent. Our foursome played in 3:45 . I will give this course another try.
Great course
The course is in great shape, especially the greens. You can tell the staff and grounds crew take pride in working there. The course was fun and challenging, our group only got held up once all day. For the price compared to some other courses in the area (I’m looking at you Royal St Augustine) this place is a must play.
very slow greens
I liked the course overall as to design and condition in comparison to the cost of play. The only thing that stands out very brightly is the speed of the greens. Their condition was good and they looked very healthy but they were the slowest greens I have ever putted on. The foursome I played with never did get the speed figured out. They needed to be mowed and rolled. Otherwise I enjoyed the round.
Nice track
Greens in excellent shape. Fairways brown but playable. Tee boxes ok as well.
fairways and greens in great condition
Course is in great shape. Greens are fast. Our threesome finished in just under 4 hours. Some tight fairways, but very manageable. Surrounded by lovely homes and lots of water. Staff friendly and helpful. Very much a country club feel. Highly recommend.
Good enough
This was our fifth and last round of our trip and paid the most here, but we all agreed it wasn’t the best course we played. Play was a little slow but could maintain tempo, conditions a bit spotty. Overall, I was disappointed, expected better
enjoyable round
The most dominant characteristic of this course is the greens. They are some of the BEST I have played on and they are very fast. I was impressed with all aspects of the course with the exception of the sand bunkers. Most were good, but some could use more sand. The pace of play was average for winter golf in FL. It's almost always crowded. The starter tried really hard to speed up tee times with cancellations and "no shows". All in all the staff and facilities were very good.
