About

Carved from a forest of pines and winding through wetlands and lagoons, St. Johns Golf & Country Club offers a scenic 18-hole round located between St. Augustine and Jacksonville. The course features tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens. There is also the occasional two-tiered green to look out for. Water hazards come into play throughout and there are several well-placed bunkers. Depending on how the wind is blowing, the course can range from being gentle to very demanding. Six sets of tees make the course accessible to players of all skill levels. In addition to the course, St. Johns Golf & Country Club also offers extensive practice facilities including a 10,000 sq. foot putting green, chipping green, and a double-sided driving range.

Pace of play.

Overall the course was in great condition, good layout, tee boxes were in good shape and positioned for a reasonable difficulty.

-the greens were sandy and patchy, you would roll a putt and it would jump and waver several times to the hole but still fast.

-pace of play and courtesy of play, I was only able to play 9 in about 3 in a half hours…as a two ball my partner and I would tee off then wait 15 minutes to 20 minutes between every shot. There was a lot of tour pro green reading or tee boxing aiming going on between the 2 or 3 groups ahead of us. IE lacking a marshal to keep up the pace of play I guess.

Great Course

This was a solid golf experience from start to finish . We were greeted by friendly outside staff . Pro shop staff good and the shop itself was fully stocked . Course conditions were very playable . The lunch was delicious . We look forward to coming back on Saturday to play .

Both nines get booked simultaneously

The course is nice and well kept. Relatively easy and flat, in a good way. The condition of the course is great. However, they allow people to tee off on the back nine. So when you make the turn, there are two groups literally waiting in front of you. It was so bad that we left. I threw away the money, but I wasn't going to wait to tee off on hole 10, when we practically had nobody in front of us the entire front nine.
