The course features tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens. There is also the occasional two-tiered green to look out for. Nice challenge
This course was at times narrow, lots of water but fun to play. The pace was a bit slow for not being very crowded at 1 pm. Also, pricey for the average round if not for TeeTimes. Other than that, a nice gem in the neighborhood !!
Overbooked
On weekends they send groups off the front and back from 2-4. We played the front at a good pace but when we got to the turn the starter was gone and new groups were going off the back on their own backing everything g up. I am told they do this every weekend..
It’s too bad because the front was great. Greens were fast and true and course was in good shape. They are too greedy with squeezing as many rounds out of the course .
Excellent course in great condition
Very pleased with course condition and layout. A pleasure to play! Only negative was starters inability to adjust to lateness of groups. He held up play until every member of a group showed up! He should have let the next group go if they were ready. Result was we started 15 minutes after our scheduled tee time! Clear that up and everything is good!
Great find
Fast and true greens with a good collection of par-3s. Will definitely play again… Recommended
Top 10 golf courses in st Augustine/Jacksonville area
The course has been improved quite a bit since about a year. I was very impressed
Great course
Course was in great shape. Thoroughly enjoyed the course.
Nice Track
It's a great layout and as challenging as you want it to be. Friendly staff. Recommended to any golfer.
Nice course
This was the first time playing St. John’s Golf & Country Club. I have tried a few times but found it difficult to get the tee time I wanted. I’m glad that I got to play there yesterday. What a nice course and it was in good condition for January. The course is laid out nicely and is challenging but playable. The tee boxes are positioned to give players of all levels a fair challenge. It’s a pretty course. Some after, lots of traps. I played on a Sunday and the starter said that they had a full tee sheet. I didn’t doubt him since the parking lot was fairly full and lots of players around the clubhouse. We teed off right on time and played at a nice steady pace. The only slight hold up started on the 15th hole and even then we only had to wait about 5 minutes for them to clear. Overall, I liked the course, would recommend it and look forward to playing there again.
Birthday round
The course was full as most would expect for a great course in the middle of winter in Florida. I was part of a foursome and we NEVER had to wait on any tee box or fairway! It was an awesome time. The greens was super fast and challenging. I loved every 3 putt, as I had a few. It was fair but the pin placement was for Sunday afternoon! Lol! it was a great way to spend a great day! Can’t wait to go back.
Perfect Track
Tee boxes good
Bunkers excellent
fairways good
Greens best we played all week 11 on the stimp easily ran true. Dont be above the hole lol.
So good we went back. they had top dressed and even then the greens were good maybe 9. 9.5..
Would definately go back

Great layout . Dont just grip n rip you have to think your way around the course.
Tee offs fine
Bunker firm and tricky
fairways fine
rough overseeded so tricky in the bermuda
greens one word Perfect 11 on the stimp rolled true Large with undulations keep your ball under the hole location!
Absolutley loved this track
Rude Rangers
The course itself is a good course and was in good condition. However, for the price paid I expected a little more. The real downer was the rude on course staff, Mike specifically. The rangers kept trying to tell our group, with a 78 year old gentleman as part of the group, that we were two holes behind. This happened on both the front and back nines. On the back nine there was not anyone behind us and our group the teed off our round at 8:05 AM completed our round at 12:03 PM. The staff members around the cart return stated thei pace of play is 4 hours and 10 minutes. We finished in 3 hours and 58 minutes. Not sure how we were 2 holes behind, but finished in under 4 hours. The on course staff will make me go elsewhere to play in the future.
Best Value for the Money
Beautiful December day to play. Everyone at course was friendly and helpful. Biggest challenge on the course was the greens. Hold to hold greens on approach shots. Better to hit short and roll up on the greens. Putting was treacherous. .Downhill putts impossible. Better to have uphill putts. Outside of the greens, the rest of the course was nice and not very difficult. I would play this course again.
