St. Johns Golf & Country Club

My tee time was booked a week in advance. I had out of town guests and a tight window. I read the most recent reviews to ensure that the course was in good condition. When my 4-some arrived we were told the greens were punched and sanded about 12 hours ago. There was zero time to book elsewhere. We were charged the full $67 weekday rate to play a course that should have either notified me, or offered a discounted rate. Then I have to ask my guests for $67 each to play garbage greens. I've played this course 50 times. In a prepay scenario, no need to remedy. Poor showing.

I love the course and it was in great condition tee and fairway, but I had I known the greens had just been aerated and sanded I would have played somewhere else rather than pay $72 for the round. The course should have either reduced the rate or communicated the conditions on the internet. While I recommend playing, I wouldn’t play until the greens have had time to recover if they are going to charge that much.

After arriving at the course was told that the back 9 was being aerated and I would have to play the front 9 twice. There was no disclaimer when making the tee time nor any concessions made for the inconvenience. Would have loved to seen the entire course.

No water anywhere on the course - only when drink cart comes around. No marshal on the course - group in front of us played a 5 hour round with no one in front of them.

Only thing was the aeration of the greens but I was informed that when I booked.

Wow course is on fantastic shape. Other than their high rates it is great

Great course layout with water and bunkers everywhere. It was mowed short from the fairway through the rough and including the greens. The greens rolled really well. Only caveat was playing it for the first time I did not know where the hidden hazards were and the tightly mowed fairway and rough caused good shots to roll into the penalty areas. It just makes me want to play it again!

In great shape. Fun and interesting layout. Can certainly be a challenge. Greens where fast but in perfect shape. At 52 bucks a solid value now that Troon took over. Ranger told me they are not planning on letting the greens get super super fast like they have been in the past. I like fast greens but not US Open PGA Tour fast!

They allow walkers which slows the pace of play. Our round was about 5 hrs, way too slow

Looking forward to returning to St. John's Golf & Country Club. We enjoyed this golf course and club house very much.
