Inspired by the backdrop of the Manatee River, Ted McAnlis has created the ultimate golf experience with the perfect combination of beauty and challenge. Waterlefe Golf & River Club is built along a particularly beautiful section of the Manatee River, complete with wide expanses of pristine marshes and pleasant coves. Don't be surprised if on the 15th tee you spot a family of manatees poking noses up for a breath of air. The golf course was designed with a great deal of time, effort and expense going toward protecting and resorting the natural environment that gives the course it unique character. The gently sloped greens with the newest Tifteagle Bermuda offer the ultimate in putting. From a lazy start on the par-5 first hole to the big finish on the 18th hole island green, golfers love Waterlefe Golf & River Club!

decent enough course but a couple of gimmicky holes in my opinion. Greens and fairways have greened up in last 2 weeks

This course is fantastic. We got a great deal on GolfNow but it would have been worth full price. Lots of water but play the right tees and you will have a great day.

Bring your “A” game
Waterlefe is a challenging course. Must be able to hit greens and fairways with little room for error The course was well maintained and fun to play

Great and Fun Golf Course
Waterlefe will challenge you on each shot and it is one of the Best in all of Sarasota/Bradenton. It is a MUST play if you are in the area. We would have liked to see the greens putt a little faster, but we still had a blast!

Not in very good shape for the money
Not in very good shape for the money I know this time of year you pay more to play golf during this peak season. but this course is over price for the conditions the greens were bumpy with so many ball marks in them it looked like a minefield. The fairways were so so tee boxes so so but the bunkers are in decent shape. This course is not golfer friendly at all and you can get frustrated very easily here if you spray the ball at all

Disappointing round
Have played several times over the years. This was the worst experience. Overbooked. Slow play. Players behind hitting into our group. Messages on our GPS warning of slow pace of play about which we could do nothing were insulting. We could only proceed at the pace of those in front of us! We worried about completing the round before we had no daylight. It was a five hour round on a four hour course. So disappointing, given the green fee. Unlikely to play again with the current overcrowding policy. And certainly won't recommend to others..

First Time at Waterlefe:)
My first round in this course, and I was presently surprised. The layout and course design were 5 star. I played after 2:00 to take advantage of the lower rate. The GPS attached to the course, was not at all accurate in terms of the yardage to the pin. This caused
Me to lose a few balls
Due to Miss clubbing myself. Overall it was definitely a positive experience. Make sure to spray yourself with bug spray, the no see I’m bugs were very active.

You MUST hit your T ball STRAIGHT and allow for LOTS of runoff. SLOW PAY due to older members that don't speed up....waited on MOST holes.

Golf at Waterlefe
Course was in great condition but the pace of play was horrible . People behind us we’re aggressive always hitting into us and was hit by a ball on the 14 th as we were leaving the green . Foursome ahead of us was two holes behind and super slow . We ended up quitting on the 15th in disgust . Too bad cause we really enjoy this course . So the question was how did I enjoy my round on Sunday the 13th .? Worst round ever in Florida in the 25 years we’ve been coming .

Nice layout with lots of water
I really enjoyed the variety of holes on this course. Water does come into play on most holes but the landing areas are bigger than they appear from the tee box. The greens were true, in great shape and fast. The sand traps were in great shape. I would have preferred a little longer and thicker fairway grass. Pace of play was about 4 hours 30 minutes on a Saturday morning. The back nine plays tougher than the front so score early. As all golf courses in this general area I though the green fee of $145 was a little steep but unfortunetly in par with the other courses in the general area.
