Waterlefe Golf & River Club

This is my favorite course in the St Pete/Sarasota area. Ive played here many times in the past 10 years. WAIT FOR RAIN. For $135, not worth it right now. The greens are like cement and greens 13 level fast. Hit at least 5 shots within 5 feet of the pin, all rolled to the back fringe. Leaving a 15-30 foot, downhill, unstoppable putt. No fun. Im a 6 handicap and it was crazy fast and hard. Ive seen it in much better, playable condition. I did shoot 40 on the front/Blue tees. But it should have been better.

layout was challenging and fair even with all the water om the course. putts rolled great and greens were just fast. don't really like hitting range balls in water and short game practice area was out of the way and just okay. for what i paid course is one if not the best in central florida

Hands down one of the best courses that I have ever played. I can say it’s definitely worth the price. The greens were quick and with the dry conditions the ball rolled for days. I highly recommend Waterlefe.

I love/hate this course. It is a beauty but challenging, especially on the greens. Yesterday, it felt like every pin placement was on a slope. The greens are true, but very fast.

As always, in great shape, especially lightning fast greens, pure & true.....stay below the hole!!!! Wish they would leave fairways just a tad furrier though, and surprising how many people don't fill their divots.....shameful!!! About the only areas where there's no grass are a few spots in rough where it's just sandy & bare. Tees all nice & level with great grass. Greens are still a tad hard, so if you don't spin the ball well, tough to hold. We played in 4 hours & 8 minutes, but GPS kept telling us we were falling behind pace, although NEVER saw the group behind us. I know they shoot for 4 hour rounds here, but really, with the difficulty of this course, if you have 1 or 2 higher handicappers in your group, it's hard to do. I would think for the price, they would allow 4 hour 20 minute rounds, but thats just me. Although I can play under 4 hours, when I have a hacker or 2 with me, I always seem to feel rushed, and it does take a bit away from enjoying my round. All in all, still one of the top courses in the area, no doubt.

The golf course was great and challenging. The ladies behind us were annoying. We let them play through on number 10 but then the ladies behind them who were now behind us were just as annoying. We might have been behind 5 to 10 minutes but it wasn’t so bad that we needed to be told 5 times we were behind pace. Just saying…

Stunning course, I’ll be back. Like the terminator I was forced to realize the reality of my flaws that challenged my inner human from 1 to 18. Taking 6 months off and trying to play this course was as smart as drinking and driving as a new driver. Inner tiger I’d guess you’d say. Be targeted, stay focused, enjoy the local gators. Bring 45,000 balls.

Fun course if you have your tee shots dialed in. Otherwise bring a lot of balls. Pace was fairly good for a weekday afternoon.

Friendly staff, interesting layout, great conditions given the drought. With all the water, bring lots of balls!

One of favorite courses in the Sarasota- Bradenton area. Definitely a must play -some very challenging holes. In excellent condition with very fast greens.

Great course! Very difficult if you are not a straight hitter. Back 9 was more senic than front. Overall I liked the challenge and would definitely play again.

This was the second time playing at this course. It is a challenging course but well maintained and playing it recently we remembered where not to try and hit it. The back nine holes are so scenic with the homes on the water and then some of the holes have a view of the Mantee River. We hope to return.
