Course is in tough shape. Will try again in a few months
Going down hill
I played this course when it was Southern Woods, a few years ago. At that time it was in great shape. Now it is in terrible shape. Fairways and greens absent large areas of grass. Only two fairways on the back nine in somewhat decent shape. Looks like the new owners are not maintaining it. also, the restaurant was closed. Literally sandy potholes on some of the greens. I would not play it again. They need to sell it to someone who will keep it up.
Terrible condition
I thought Oakhill golf was bad,this one is worse.Tee boxes, fairways and greens nothing but sand course should be closed 🔒.

So much potential, so much let down
Every tee box but maybe 2 were completely dirt/sand. Couldn’t grip at all. Hard to find the grass in majority of the fairways. Every approach shot was off of dirt. MAYBE 2 greens were decent. The rest were sand/gravel and bumpy. The layout is the only thing this course has going for them. Looks like irrigation was put in recently but doesn’t look to be being used. Undulation could be great with actual grass. Course has a lot of potential but money needs to be spent asap! Tried to charge me $50 at clubhouse. Tee Off had it for $25. Barely worth $25 to play there. Won’t be back. Played there just to waste time while truck was in the shop
Getting green
Greens are green and run fast. Some bad spots are healing nicely. Fairways are mixed. Back is better than the front. Grass is coming in with water and warm temps. Tees are rough. Pace was excellent at 3 hrs. Great value.
Horrible course conditions
There was very little grass on the tee boxes and fairways. It was basically one big sand pit. The greens rolled well. The golf carts are the best thing at this course. Management needs to put money into this course to get it groomed. Wasn't worth the hot deal price with the condition of the course.
Golf courses should have grass
Good for beginners who need some swings. Otherwise, no grass on tee boxes, fairways nor greens.
Great layout, terrible course conditions
The course had next to no grass in the "fairways". The greens were looking rough as heck but rolled decent. Tee boxes were nothing but sand and not level at all. The layout is great, and if the owners put the money into the course to bring it back and get it groomed then it would be worth playing. As it sits, that was a waste of a hot deal.
Disappointef
Sad. This course was nothing short of magnificent at an earlier stage of its existence. The layout and overall quality of construction was superb. But unfortunately it’s gone through significant hard times. Much of the course is not being irrigated (including many greens and tee boxes) causing significant deterioration and barren soil. Desperately needs a capital expenditure to bring it back and a good superintendent to stay on top of key irrigation and fertilization necessities.
