About
Formerly known as Grand Lacuna Golf Club, this par-71 championship course now goes by the name Atlantic National Golf Club. Designed in the late 1980s by Joe Lee, the course was designated one of the 50 best public courses in Florida. The challenging layout has plenty of variety that will require all different types of shots. Golfers will find that they need to use every club in their bag. Water hazards come into play on several holes but the strategically placed bunkers that lurk along the greensides and fairways are particularly tricky. There are some tough holes but it is an accommodating layout for all skill levels, especially since it has four diverse sets of tees. In addition to the golf course, Atlantic National offers a grass driving range, two putting greens, and a chipping area with a practice bunker.

Greens are good and on the way back

Conditions Improving, But .........
Some areas of the course have improved however when a vast swath of a particular fairway has been removed to be replaced it's not exactly the "minimal maintenance preformed" note on the web site that I envisioned. For some reason the greens seem to get aerated about every third week and as a result this condition has a negative impact on scoring potential and enjoyment. I actually got a better $$$ deal on GolfNow than using the course Summer Card program, if not for that additional savings and an earlier tee time I may not have gone here at all. I continue to remain cautiously disappointed. *sigh*

Great Summer Bargain
A very enjoyable round Course in great condition . The prices were very reasonable and pace of play was exceptional- 3 hour, 20 minute round.

Excellent!
Very friendly and helpful staff.
The course is challenging but fair and it was in excellent shape.
We had a slow group in front of us and we still played 18 holes in 4 hours.

Not so good
The course was in very poor condition, with greens being regrown or not cut...almost unputtable.

Bad greens
This used to be one of the best public courses in the area unfortunately the greens are in poor shape and extremely slow. They have been this way since at least May
