Atlantic National Golf Club
About
Formerly known as Grand Lacuna Golf Club, this par-71 championship course now goes by the name Atlantic National Golf Club. Designed in the late 1980s by Joe Lee, the course was designated one of the 50 best public courses in Florida. The challenging layout has plenty of variety that will require all different types of shots. Golfers will find that they need to use every club in their bag. Water hazards come into play on several holes but the strategically placed bunkers that lurk along the greensides and fairways are particularly tricky. There are some tough holes but it is an accommodating layout for all skill levels, especially since it has four diverse sets of tees. In addition to the golf course, Atlantic National offers a grass driving range, two putting greens, and a chipping area with a practice bunker.

A great afternoon at a fun course Photo submitted by kengeniusz on 02/23/2013
Excellent condition and fast play
the course is in great shape and the pace of play was under 4 hours
Exceeded Expectations
Gorgeous course. Two days before, I played North Palm Beach, the top rated public course - Lacuna was basically comparable. Definitely look forward to playing there again.
Not worth the money
We had the unfortunate opportunity to play Atlantic National on Saturday March 8th, 2025. I say unfortunate because the price of the course does not match the conditions of the course. The fairways were, the greens patchy and full of fungus, tee boxes filled with divots. Not what you would expect from a course that expensive.
On top of those issues, on the 9th hole we were approached by the range who told us to pick up the pace. We were 5 - 10 minutes behind pace the entire round due to the group in front of us. When the ranger told us to pick up the pace, I had just hit my approach shot to the green. I had to wait at least 10 minutes in the fairway after hitting my drive before we could hit our approach shots - the group ahead was still on the green. I told the ranger that and he said they were already on the 10th fairway - the group was just pulling away from the green complex when he said that. We finished out the hole and went to the 10th tee. The group ahead were still standing on the tee box (they stopped at the clubhouse for food). We waited another 10 - 15 minutes for them to finish the hole.
Not a good showing by Atlantic National. It's too bad because I really like the layout of the course. It was probably in the worst shape I've ever seen it.
Not long but very challenging
Atlantic National played 6307 yards (par 71) from the back tees but requires accurate tee shots to avoid the many water hazards and fairway bunkers. The greens are designed to offer a variety of pin placements that will challenge even the best players. Bottom line, accuracy is more important than length. Good shots get rewarded and poor shots are penalized. A great layout which is very fair but very challenging. The staff is courteous and made us feel welcomed. The restaurant shuts down by 4 or 5 so make sure you get a cold beverage from the cart girl if your tee time is after noon. Repeat customer.
Quick true greens
The conditions are getting better every time we return, The conditions are great already.
Never disappoints
Fantastic course, great shape and amazing conditions
Eh....
It's ok but overpriced in my opinion. People dont rake their bunkers so you really feel like you are at a public course when you land in the sane.
Good track
Great lay out, has some Serious potential if greens didnt have some dead spots, but understandable with lack of rain lately. Overall a really nice course, had no issues with pace of play. Course was overall in good condition, has that “full course” feel
Great Public Course
Very well-maintained Florida course with lots of water greens are very fast with lots of movement
Challenging holes for all levels of play
Nice Course
Little Slow but it was Saturday Afternoon in South Florida.
