Forest Oaks Golf Club
About
Forest Oaks Golf Club in Lake Worth is a public course that is still one of south Florida's best-kept secrets despite having good conditions and affordable rates. The golf course offers an enjoyable round that is challenging but playable. Opened in the 1970s, it has a classic layout that showcases what Florida golf courses are known for. It is a tight layout that requires a fair amount of accuracy but beginners won't feel too out of their league. The layout offers an excellent transition from an executive course. It measures less than 6,000 yards, offering a quick and enjoyable round for more advanced players. Forest Oaks G.C. offers the quality and conditions of a country club course but the friendly and casual atmosphere of a public facility.

Fun while it lasted
Decent course. Some greens are better than others - one was really beaten up with several (15+) sand repaid areas. Tee boxes are what they are, it’s still a public course. I imagine this course was well kept but anticipate course maintenance to be low on the priority list as I heard the owners just sold the land to a housing developer.
For the money I’d 100% recommend it.
Lots of FL wild life on the course as well which makes it fun.
Lost ball boys
We lost a lot of balls today. That was our own fault though. Tough course, but fun. Staff was great.
Awesome ‘Old School’ Courae
Had a great time! Super interesting play on a well cared for course.
Loved the old school — shot maker — golf course. Tight fairways, small greens, and water ready to drown a wayward shot.
Greens in great condition!
Bunkers were actively cared for.
Staff was welcoming.
Super fast play.
Small club house with food, stories, and vibe. Reminded me of a VFW! (I like it)
What else could you ask for? Maybe a range area? But then again, I like that you just show up, stretch, and slap the ball down the fairway. They do have a nice chip and putt green right near the first tee!
Date of play Friday 12.10.2021 - Nice Round!
The staff was very friendly, and the course was in good shape. The greens in my eyes were a little slow as I believe they needed to be pressed / rolled. The course layout was good and most of the holes had narrow fairways. There are numerous water hazards, so you need to stay on the fairways. The course is relatively short from the White Tees at 5803 yards but requires control to stay in the fairways.
I will play this course again soon!
Great value
Great value on golfnow. Greens not great. Short layout but more difficult than it looks.
Interesting round of golf.
Great value.
Great location for me.
Just right for a 73 y/o like me.
Nice place
Nice To play we see Bird turtle iguane everyting good
Good course for the price
Nice course with some challenges (narrow and some water). Par 5s are very short, however.
Forest oaks
You have to hit all your shots here, narrow fairways small greens they are working to make it better, I like the course if you can score here you can play anywhere
Short but somewhat challenging
Course was in good shape. Nothing fancy here. Most fairways are not wide with plenty of water around.
Needs a lot of work
Sraff was super friendly and helpfjl but the course needs a lot of work.
Well Worth It
This older course is well worth a visit, especially before April '22 when it's scheduled to close for housing development. The course plays well, fairways tighter than most, rough playable but a challenge, some greens need a little tlc, water comes into play if you're wayward. The check in serves as pro shop, check in and grill area. I loved the feel.
Water logged
Played this course with my wife and being amateur golfers we found water holes very challenging. Recommend bringing extra golf balls for double bogey players. Otherwise it was a fun course
Pleased
Played this course a few years back and still enjoyed playing here today. Golf Now had a good deal on this day and being a snow bird and living further south thought I would give it another try and satisfied that I tried it. Greens could use bit more of TLC. If you’re not looking for a meticulous golf course this is the place to go
