Goat Track
Place is a goat track. It’s not bad for the value... however it’s just an atrocious golf course
Great Course for the price!!
Course was in great shape! Not perfect, but amazing price for the quality!! I will return! Great layout, staff, and members!
Scruffy but friendly
Old place with lots of maintenance issues. Staff was friendly, seemingly well prepped for covid, and we had lots of space on the course.
Some strange hole yardage, short 5s, long 3s. Annoyingly steep drop offs into yucky ponds and drainage ditches.
It was still good to get out and Sonic is just down the road.
Forest Oaks First Timer
Course was good for the rate. Greens were in good conditions, Fairways and Tee boxes could stand a little more maintenance but at a $30 price tag, I feel that it's worth it. Very challenging. Although it appears to play short on the scorecard, the tight fairways, excellent bunker and water placement surely keeps you on your toes. Nice staff as well.
Never changes
This course has some of the nicest greens you'll find in Florida, But the fairways always need plenty of work. Traps were good to get out of.
Amenities couldn't really rate, played during COVID-19 restrictions so not much was open.
If they ever get the fairways in shape this would be a hidden gem.
Not heading back
Granted I didn’t arrive till 630 and asked to play they charged me for a full round. I was asked halfway through the first hole after my drive to pick up cuz he wanted to close the front nine, I was then rushed onto the back nine. The manager followed me around the course. Met an alright single playing in front of me and we joined as we had a group of 4 in front of us. Course was like concrete. Rough unplayable. They turned the sprinklers on the tee boxes as I was still playing. I’ll be disputing the amount charged on my card as I didn’t get to play.
Nice local course
Other than a few good fairway shots that ended up on dry dirt, the course was in decent shape. Putts rolled true. Nice to be out after all the closures. Staff was super and pace of play excellent.
We started the course with a line already behind, and the people behind us starting the hole before we were even halfway through the hole. Then this ignorant staff working cane and yelled at us to hurry up and skip the next hole. They were clearly over booked and talked to us the crap. The guy working the carts seemed like a great guy, and was not part of the problem at all.
Over booked
Started the course at the same time as 10 players. No space for playing. We got told to skip a hole because it was so busy. Seems like they over booked to make up for lost revenue. I understand, but a rushed 18 holes isn't something worth any money, even if it was a special deal. Be aware of cheap price times
It's ok
You get what you pay for. It's.a great value in the world of golf, but you'll be hitting off of a fairway that feels like concrete. Good for rolls, bad if you want your shot to stick (like on the green!). Short course but pretty difficult because the holes are really narrow. Little room for error. Not a crowded course, which is a positive. Very nice staff. Overall, was fun to play at an excellent price. Wouldn't do it again if there were alternatives, but when you really want to get out, it will do.
Good quality price
Nice golf course for the price. Par 5s are way too short... Does not make sense to hit the second shot on the green with a seven iron on a par 5.ç, especially when you are far from being a pro! Having said that very enjoyable course for the price.
Cheap course
Short and simple design course surrounded by houses, good greens, fairways ok, cheap green fee, not sure about cleanliness of restroom
Golf day at Forest Oaks
First time playing this course. Course layout was really nice. Some very challenging holes, especially when the wind was at your face. Some long near 200 yard par 3's from the blue tees. No over seeding so the fairways were not very good with sand patches throughout. Greens were receptive to high shots and would hold. Most were slightly elevated ala Nicklaus courses. Nice undulations with many break points on greens. First several holes were narrow and had water channels along side holes. Was told by players in the club house to put away the driver and control with a 3 wood...very sage advice. Water not available except at 1st and 10th hole. Sand traps had very good sand that you could feel the shot; not hard pan!
Club house attendant was very friendly and helpful. My wife and I were paired with a lovely couple from Montreal, Canada. We had a very nice time playing with then. I would have given this a high rating IF the fairways were decent. They were not, unfortunately. We did have fun playing the course.
