Rocky Bayou Country Club

Course was much better than I expected. Greens rolled well and kinda speedy. Never had a issue of not having fairway grass. Course plays tight with tree lines, not like most Destin courses where you just hit wherever you want. Chipping areas around the greens were full of grass, unlike a lot of local courses. Clubhouse guy was super nice. Definitely one of the best valued courses I've played. Lots of groups of 4 that were members in front of us that played at break neck speed. Will play again, soon.

Played front side on 3 previously occasions and course and staff were great. But Saturday afternoon, 11 April 2020 was a complete reversal.

When I attempted to check-in with my 11 year old granddaughter for a full round, the on duty manager was unprofessional. When informed my granddaughter could not ride in my cart and had to instead walk I inquired if this applied to family members as I had observed other family members sharing carts on Thursday afternoon. Instead of explaining the policy change and offering a solution such as a pull cart for her or both of us the manager responded with a terse “I’m not going to argue with you”. So I cancelled our tee time.

Rocky Bayou Country Club’s website states “From beginner to scratch golfer, junior player to senior master, an exceptional day on the course is waiting for you ...” Unfortunately they missed the mark Saturday afternoon.

Tee boxes are pretty good for little rain we had. Greens are fast and fairways are good, fringe around the greens are slow so run ups are slowed down. They’re keeping the carts clean after each use and have foam noodles in the cups. Hope they stay open till next snowbird season, see you then.

Greens roll great and I don't remember seeing any areas that I wouldn't want to putt over. The fairways have a few small burnt patches but you won't find your ball in any of those areas unless you hit a very poor shot off the tee.

Great layout and a fun course!!!

We enjoy playing this course. It offers some challenges with water holes which makes for an interesting game.Will be back for sure.

this course has possibilities and has a decent layout. it needs fairway work as grass is very sparse and therefore hard to get under the ball.

Had a noon tee time as a twosome. Played every hole without a wait even though course seemed busy. Enjoyed the layout. Played two other courses in the area, liked this one the best. Definitely will be back.
