Never fails to impress
When visiting Naples area I always try to play Forest Glen. I have played here many times and always enjoyed playing here. The course has continued to be maintained to a high standard and the management never sit on their laurels and have over the years improved the facility to maintain the high standards wherever it was required. There had been a considerable amount of rainfall prior to playing, but although some of the fairways where wet in places it did not effect the round of golf. The starter informed me that five fairways were cartpath only which did not detract from the enjoyment of the round. Because I played as a single I quickly caught up with the groups in front of me which made the pace of play slow. However I was able to change the playing order of the holes to counteract the hold up on the back nine. If you are in the Naples area you must take time to play this course.
Difficult course for the first time
Difficult course for first time players. GPS on the carts would definitely help make the challenging course more enjoyable.. Even when playing it a second time it was difficult to score well without knowing exactly where shots needed to be.
Forest Glen golf course
Greens had just been punched with holes and sand everywhere not that good to putt on golf now had no notifications listed about this
Fairways and greens in good shape
This Arthur Hills course offers challenges from all of its tee boxes. Abundant bunkers, water hazards and Florida flora along both sides of many fairways can make slight mishits costly on the scorecard.
Damp fairways and somewhat quick greens on the day I played, 9/15/2018, made for shorter drives and modestly more difficult putting.
Excellent practice facilities include unlimited range balls for a water range, a large practice green and off to the right side a practice bunker and chipping area.
The course provides dry towels, wet towels, tees and stations for ice and drinking water.
There is an automated lightening detection system that will shut the course down regardless of what you see or think about weather conditions.
Beautiful course
This is the nicest course in Naples, and for the price it’s unbelievable. My number one fav greens and fairways and layout,if you never played this course you need to before it goes private before coming season.
Great day of golf
2nd time at this course. Great day. was a little hot. Green were punched 1 week earlier but they were in very good shape. and not the typical bumpy conditions after being aerated.
some fairways are a little tight, but that's what makes golf great.
Some greens have a lot of big undulations so get it close.
Greens and fairways recently aerated, recovering nicely
This Arthur Hills course is like a final exam with questions for which I have incomplete answers much of the time from 5944 yard tees.
Hazards are abundant on every hole. The only two fairways that run sort of parallel are 9 and 18.
Greens are fast and large and well protected by bunkers, water, native plantings and/or out
of bounds. In short, getting to the green may be only half of the fun.
Greens and fairways are usually well maintained and lush this time of year.
The course provides both dry and cold, wet towels in the Summer months.
Tees set at greater than 6000 yards are much more demanding with respect to forced carries over water.
course was in great shape fairways and greens the ft nine played a little tougher than back
there are a few v difficult and some friendly
they have one drive able par four
saw a couple deer and not many birdies
Magnificent manicured
The course was beautiful and well maintained. Only had a couple of groups ahead of us on a blistering hot deal. Played in 4:15. Lots of water, but very playable if you aim at 150 yard marker. Lots of undulations on greens but speed allowed you to play them well. Highly recommended.
Fun Course
Very good course, well maintained, with a friendly helpful staff. As in most Florida courses it contains lots of water and the requirement to place shots. Greens were in good shape too.
Exceptional Golf Course 1 nit pick
From 150 yards and in this course was absolutely beautiful, bunkering was perfect, and the greens ran true and created more complexities. My only nit pick with the course is the lack of decisions to make off the tee. I played the gold tees and hit all 4 irons to a designated area at approximately 220 yards. Again, this course from 150 yard marker in was extremely fun and challenging. Would play this course again.
Challenges with every shot.
This challenging course is in great shape. I believe there will be an aeration of the greens at the end of July.
Currently the greens are fast (about 10 .5 is my guess). Additionally, the large greens have lots of movement in them.
Bunkers and water hazards join abundant Florida flora that lines the fairways. In short, accurateshot placement is important.
Back tees (black and gold) require long carry drives.
This course may be demanding for even an intermediate player from the wrong tees.
