Silver Dollar Golf & Trap Club - Gator/Panther Course
About
Located just northwest of Tampa, Silver Dollar Golf & Trap Club sprawls across the lush landscape of the west Florida coast. The club offers three nines: the Gator, the Panther, and the Bobcat. The nines can be played individually for a quick round or in three different 18-hole combinations. The Gator/Panther layout offers a good balance of challenges and player-friendly features. Narrow, tree-lined fairways are complemented by generous landing areas. There are sparkling lakes and ponds that come into play on a few holes and strategically placed bunkers are situated along the greensides. In addition to the three golf courses, Silver Dollar boasts one of the area's most extensive practice facilities, which includes a full driving range, two putting greens, a pitching and chipping green with a sandtrap, and three practice holes.

We can then all over the course Photo submitted by Gilbert3585586 on 05/27/2013
Great greens
Fairways were patchy and lots of over water shots. Hit a lot of good shots to find out my ball is wet. Greens were excellent and my group noted that several times during play. It was a long ride from st. Petersburg but I will be back.
Made us play same nine holes twice for some reason
When I arrived they told us was only 20 instead of 24 but we had to play same nine holes twice because I booked 18. Was very disappointed and will probably not ever go back. They said they tried to contact me to inform me the night before but I have no idea how they would know how to contact me. Like I said that was probably the last time I will go there.
Great value venue with good layout
Played The Gator and The Panther courses (two loops of nine). Course a little wet in places and some teeing areas not great. Greens, however, were in great shape. Ball rolled true. Irons into the greens had to be accurate as many greens were small. A good golfing challenge for not many $. Staff in pro shop and bar were very friendly and hospitable. Well worth a play if you’re in the area.
Not bad
Staff friendly. First nine was too wet from overwatering. No rain for days. Tees were fair shape. Plenty of grass through the green just soggy on Gator 9. Greens just a tad slow for me but in good shape with a bit of some other grass mixed in on some areas. No mats, all grass on practice tee which I like. Good place for the price to keep your game up.
Silver Dollar Day
This is a great place to golf. Friendly staff, upgraded course with terrific greens. Challenging course with a very good layout.
1st time
Course was in decent shape, kinda deserted no one in ft or behind so we cruised thru in just under 3 hrs. Greens running fast and in good shape. Club house reception was nice and friendly. We will play here again in the late spring.
Silver Dollar Golf Club
First time playing this course. It has 27 holes but nine for the gator was not open today I played the panther to the Bobcat. Played from the blue tees, it has decent length around 6200 yards. I believe due to the extensive rainfall the area has experienced I found the rough to be a little high so any ball that traveled off the fairway took some time to locate. The greens while not fast were in very nice condition and rolled true. Check in guy was polite and friendly but the rangers were a bit cranky for no reason. Lighten up or find a job where you don’t deal with the paying public. Course is fairly open with some lakes come into play. I definitely will be back, a good value.
Seen better days
Due to the rain which I was aware of the course was wet, rough had not been mowed in days even before rain. We made our tee times on golf Now and the staff seemed to be annoyed that we did. We played the entire front nine with no one in front of us made the turn only to find the tee box backed up three groups in front in front of us.
I will play this course again but it won’t be for a long time.
Retired
Greens were in excellent condition. Fairways were in good condition. Great value for price. My wife and I will play again Sunday, the 15th.
wide open - fun track
great place to tune your game especially the wider fairways and huge greens.
great place to play with your young golfers this summer.
greens just a little bumpy still,
punched about 3 weeks ago.
very puttable
Good golf day
Front 9 very wet, well it did rain the night before but the back 9 was like it never rained at all.
Good course for bogey golfers like me as well as beginners. Greens in very good shape. Lots of dog legs.
Challenge from the tips.
6500 from the tips with more dogleg lefts than 3 average courses. Reviews were correct on slow pace of play but some of the slow play may be attributed to the abnormal amount of dogleg lefts. My son and I normally play right to left so it worked in our favor. The greens were medium slow but rolled true. Pro shop personnel friendly, giving advice on how to get from hole to hole really helped as not easy to follow path due to several long walks from green to tee. I recommend this course.
